I bought the elite chi hair straightener off of ebay and im wondering if its good or if its a fake?

i read a guide on ebay that said it was not worth buying and that it pulled her hair, it didnt get hot enough, and it didnt even have the controls on it like the box said it did. I checked the sellers feedback and tons of people bought the similar item and said it was amazing. I havent recieved my product yet. but i was wondering if it was going to be good or bad.I bought the elite chi hair straightener off of ebay and im wondering if its good or if its a fake?
Alot of times, manufacturer's get damaged items back to be fixed under warranty. Sometimes when they aren't completely 100% repairable, they replace them and fix the old ones to sell as refurbished. Alot of time they make it to retail stores like Target and Tuesday morning...and possibly ebay.I bought the elite chi hair straightener off of ebay and im wondering if its good or if its a fake?
well number one you should never buy anything off ebay because you dont know what youre in store for. also a similar item isnt exact. nd if you read the ebay guide for that product it's probably rite. but on a lighter side chi is a good brand. but your buying it from someone else not a store. you dont kno if its broken or not. yes you can get straighteners for cheap over ebay but theres a high chance of it being defective srry.
it was probably a dud then
chi is the best, i have the blow dryer. i would not recommened buying hair produicts from ebay becasue oother people use them!!! just buy one from an outlet store.

Can i use a CHI Hair Straightener in Europe?

im about to buy a chi flat iron on ebay, the problem is that ive heard they only work with american outputs?

would it work if i bought a plug converter? help me please! Can i use a CHI Hair Straightener in Europe?
it will def. work if you get a converter! I used mine in Malta with a converter and it worked just fine!

Good Luck! Can i use a CHI Hair Straightener in Europe?
It would definitely work!

I took my GHD into Sri Lanka with the right plug converter and it was perfect!

Also, I used my Remington in Germany and it was great!
It will if you use a converter!

Is a Chi hair straightener better, or a Sedu hair straightener?

I was going to buy a new hair straightener. Riight now i have the metropolis hair straightener and i was wondering if i should get a chi or sedu hair straightener? Is a Chi hair straightener better, or a Sedu hair straightener?
My best friend has a Chi Turbo straightener, and I have a Sedu straightener. She tells me that she likes my straightener better because it makes her hair more soft and her hair will stay straight longer. I recommend the Sedu, I've had mine for almost 4 years! Is a Chi hair straightener better, or a Sedu hair straightener?
I was going through the same dilemma once before! I have always owned a Chi TURBO ...key word.. TURBO. The other regular Chi does not compare. The turbo may be a bit thicker..but not in the hot plate dimensions. I've owned the regular Chi, and the Turbo. I have used the Chi Turbo for yearrrrsss. I currently decided to try to Sedu. To be honest, its not terrible. Its pros are that it seems lighter than both the Chi models, has a slightly longer cord, and looks sleek in the black hot plates. Its Con...not really any. I compare it very much like the regular Chi. I'm passionate about the Chi Turbo though because you just feel the difference in your hair when your done using it. I always end up running my fingers though my hair feeling everything I expect from a hair straightener. It seals in the shine, gets my hair straighter faster, does not frizz up, etc. Love it. I have curly fine hair btw...not that naturally straight hair just using a flat iron to tame the ends type thing. I definitely recommend the Chi Turbo. The only Con I have with the Turbo, is that the red swede on the top weathers out from the heat, which is only aesthetics and does not functionally effect it and the other con would be that some do not like the bulk cuz they feel they can not flip their ends as well as the regular chi...I personally dont agree though. I have owned the Sedu for a year now and think its ok, but most definitely go back to using the Turbo.
In my opinion, Chi is the ultimate hair straightener. I have EXTREMELY thick, curly hair and have straightened my hair daily for 4 years. The Chi makes it pin straight AND my hair soft and healthy. Hurray for non-fried hair!
i would have to say use the chi^-^

i been using it for like 5 years now and i love it

it striaghtens yur hair easily and works really well^-^
the chi will brake in a year or so i have heard so many people say that and i had the c\chi
Get the Chi. I just got one in pink on eBay. It works really well AND makes your hair really shiny!!!
I have no idea sorry, i use GHDs and they'r really good :D

Can you curl with a Chi hair straightener?

Can I curl my hair with my Chi? If so, how, and what type of curls does it produce?

Thanks so much! Can you curl with a Chi hair straightener?
Yes!

There are even youtube videos on how to do it properly, if you want me to send them to you! =)

-EDIT-

and I would imagine smaller curls, because chi is pretty thin.

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_qu鈥?/a>Can you curl with a Chi hair straightener?
you can practically curl your hair with most if not all straighteners. and the curls produced vary. it just depends on how much you decide to wrap your hair around the flat iron and it it's tight or lose etc. sorry, it's hard to explain. i have a bedhead flat iron and from my experience, it can produce from tight curls to loose waves. they're pretty either way (:
All you can do is flip the ends of your hair with the 1 and a half inch wide plate.
yea with any straightener really as long as it as rounded edges

( =
yes but it won't turn out as good as a curling iron! HOPE THIS HELPED!!!
yep

I bought it in Canada. Will it work in France without blowing? Can I take my Chi hair straightener to France?
    Nope unfortunentally.

It says clearly in the instructions that you cannot use a converter. I am so thankful my chi broke when I went to italy and I brought a different iron insead!

Can I take my Chi hair straightener to France?
no unfortunatly.....they have diff voltages in france.........it won't work and it'll probly ruin it....or catch on fire...one of the 2
Yeah, unless it won't plug in...idk..ive never taken mine out of the country. you can try...

Im getting a CHI hair straightener for x mas. whats the best one?

my hair is pretty straight already it just gets kind of poofy after i wash it. i straighten it every morning and i want a sleek and shiny look. basically i dont want my hair to frizz after i straighten it or it to only stay straight fer an hour then go back to normal...

Also what Chi products should i use.

and if there a better straightener please tell me.

and please give me direct links.Im getting a CHI hair straightener for x mas. whats the best one?
Well if you have thick hair a 2'; would be best and a 1'; would be best for thinner hair.Pink is really cute and I think it comes in pink, purple, blue and black.A good CHI product is a serum that comes in a silver bottle and says ';CHI'; on it in red,its really good, apply it after a shower(tablespoon) with your fingers and stroke it through your hair, then towel dry and let it dry by itself(unless you are in a rush than blow dry it) then apply about 1-3 tablespoons of serum and repeat instructions.

    Good luck!: D

What do you think of a chi hair straightener?

I just got one and i want to know if it was a good buyWhat do you think of a chi hair straightener?
    Hi,

I have the chi hair straightener, and it was definitely worth the price I paid for it. ($130) It lasts very long. I've had mine for a little while now, and it still works as if it were brand new. It doesn't get worn out. The plates don't melt, like some other brands do. I'm not sure about the other people who have answered this question, but my straightener, when it was dropped, it didn't break. I have dropped mine several times (I'm kind of clumsy) and it hasn't broken yet. It was definitely a good buy. Happy Hairstyling. =)What do you think of a chi hair straightener?
They are fantastic but they don't last a long time at all! I had one and spend $120 on it and it broke in a month! I have a Conair Infiniti Steam Straightener and it works fantastic! It doesn't damage your hair because it has a slot in the iron where you put water in and it steams your hair when you straighten it, so it puts moisture in, instead of taking it out. It also has a digital screen which allows you to change the temperature depending on your hair type (6 settings.) Another great feature that it has is mini combs on the plates to de-tangle and de- frizz your hair. I have very frizzy and curly hair, and my mom has very thin, fine hair, and this product works great on both of us!

    I hope this helped!

    :)
THey are ok. I have a Chi and an ISO international, and to be honest, I use the ISO twice as much, and it cost a lot less.

There is just something about the CHI that doesn't seem to preform as well for me as the ISO does. Bun a lot of my friends prefer their CHI.
So far the chi is the best all around hair straightener i ever used.Chi is used in most professional hair salons. The only thing is they can be expensive, but i found one at Kohls for only 80 bucks.
it's a good buy. but if u haven't opened it, i suggest you return and get the straightner called 'croc'

    the croc.[:

    its awesome %26lt;3

and not so bad for ur hair eiither.

    less damage.

    and wet to dry. (:

    good luck ! %26lt;3
I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee itt!! I will never go back to my old one, its small and skinny, and does everything a straightener should do... i have a light pink one, and i loveeeeeeeeeeeeeee it :)
There pretty good, better then most other ones.

i've heard SO many good things about them but i've never had enough money to actually buy one. but from what i hear, they are a godsend. you can find reviews on youtube.
why dont you go try it out for yourself, everyone has different hair, and it works differently for everyone. I like mine tho :D
Let me put it this way, if it were a boy, I'd marry it. It does everything I want it to and always leaves me satisfied.
They work reallly well yes - but they also break easily for some reason!
So far the best straightener out there, my opinion, is the CHI and Sedu. So yes, the CHI was worth your money.
i had mine for over a year and loved it but sadly one day i dropped it and it no longer works....
Thats good, thats what I heard.

Darn it! I want one now!!! XD
umm i dont think it was a good buy either, because my friends have one and they both never have straight hair
    i have heard its good
    i want one
well.. first of all what is a chi straightner?

    lol

Does anyone know if the generic chi hair straightener at sallys is as good as the reall one?

i really want a hair straighener that doesnt fry my hair as much and ive heard that the chi straightener dont.. but who know if thats true.. i want one but they are super expensive...i saw a generic one at sallys and was wondering if it was any good....Does anyone know if the generic chi hair straightener at sallys is as good as the reall one?
It's pretty good for the money, but not as good as the real one. If your hair's not super curly and you live in a dry climate it will be fine. If you have super curly hair or live in a humid or wet climate spring for the real one.

Is there a difference between the original CHI hair straightener and the CHI-tah?

the CHI-tah is just a CHI hair straightner that has a cheetah pattern on it :)

in stores or on the internet. What's the cheapest way to get a new Chi hair straightener?

Honestly I just asked my hairstylist and she called the beauty supply place and got one for me and it just happened to be on sale. I think I saved $30 plus whatever mark-up the salon would have priced it at. Never hurts to ask!
if you try ebay, i wanted one but found something even better for sooo much cheaper it is called a JDL ceramic hair iron. it resembles the Bion. i spent only $20.00 with careful bidding. i promise you will love it
You can try ebay, I usually just wait until they go on sale at Armstrong McCall and find a stylist to grab you one, since you need to be a licensed stylist to shop there. Or just save, it's a great investment!!!!

You don't want to buy a cheap iron and have your hair not be as nice as you would like it period so here's a link that should be helpful for you to use your iron in a foreign outlet:

http://www.travelproducts.com/store/elec鈥?/a>Can i use a CHI hair straightener when i go to india?
most likely you're going to need a converter... if you're staying at a hotel, they will probably know and / or have what you need.

i'd buy a cheapo one for the trip, it's not worth all that money if you fry it.
You'll probably need a converter, but be careful you don't short circuit the iron. that happens sometimes with appliances. Get a conair iron or something like that for $20 at the drug store don't risk it.
hey, I am going to India and I am planning to take my Chi hair straightener. Wanted to ask you if yours worked there? Could you email me at e_kta@hotmail.com. Thanks!
I wouldn't ask that question on here, and risk damage to my CHI!
you do need an adapter. do a quick search for adapters for small appliances for international use

I just bought the pink limited addition chi hair straightener. good or bad choice?

I really wanted a straightener that is good for my hair, that wont, or is less likely to damage my hair. so i wanted to know your opinion on the chi straightener.

thank you so much!I just bought the pink limited addition chi hair straightener. good or bad choice?
ive had 2 chi's. they work phenomenally, i have super thin hair and they still didn't fry it. so i advise if your going to spend the money on a straightener, then a chi is worth it.[=

    * before i bought my chi's. i was told by my hair dresser that the pink chi's actually don't work as well, and are more likely to have difficulties .

bakar.I just bought the pink limited addition chi hair straightener. good or bad choice?
the chi is awsome ! i have it and i love it ! if your worried about damageing your hair use a heat protectant. i use tresseme heat tamer spray....you apply it before and after you straighten your hair. you can buy it at wal mart and for like 3 bucks its really worth it.
i've spent hundreds on cheapo's i get pissed and throw them out. my hubby bought me a chi a couple of months ago and i love it! it gets hot really quick. my hair stays straight and it has a nice shine to it. you'll like it.
    excellent choice!:)
Mostly all straighteners damage your hair honey. But it is a really good choice. The chi works awesome!
my hair is super curly and it works really well on my hair.

they're kind of expensive, but wellllll worth it!
very good choice! that's what celebrities use.

Eeep, i have one. i LOVE it. most salons use them and if they don't already sell them they will be more than happy to order one for you. Also, if you have a Sally beauty supply around where you live, they typically sell them too. One last choice, alot of times hair academy's sell them because that is what the students use. If you have a Paul Mitchell hair salon or Sherman Kendall or one of those close by, try there. Hope you find one! they're amazing.Where can I buy a genuine Chi hair straightener?
    Salons
Got a Regis Salon in your area? They gotthem.....including the wholeline of chi products..... don't forget youe thermal spray torotect that hair,,,, chi 's get extremely Hot!!!
I see them all over in hair salons.
BEFORE YOU BUY A CHI IRON PLEASE THINK ABOUT IT! I bought one and had to return it within a week. IT SUCKED! It didn't even heat up right, and the iron looked like it was used before. It looked like it was made with cheap products. SAVE YOUR MONEY! TRUST ME! Two good straightening ceramic hair irons are the Paul Mitchell(which has a green ceramic plate) and the Titanium Tools Jilbere de Paris hair iron! Its awesome! You can buy those irons at the Sally Beauty Supply store and you can get the Chi iron at Regis Salon Stores, if you really want it(that's where I got my chi, and returned it). The return policy there was horrible too and I couldn't get store credit either, I had to buy something of the same price right then and there, and that's when I bought the Paul mitchell hair iron! If you have any more questions ill be glad to answer them, especially about hair.
wal mart man... its got everything
    ULTA
you can get it in Sallys beauty supply or in salons. But some Chi straightners break easily and won't even last a year. I reccomend that you get a Sedu they're almost the same price and really work!!. Also the Paul Mitchell and GHD is a really good brand.

What chi hair straightener should i get?

I have sort of thick hair (I cut it in layers) that's naturally straight but curls at the ends and sometimes comes out wavy. What Chi should I get? Normal straighteners don't do much for me and I want one that can curl my hair too even if its stubborn. Any idea's from Chi owners? What chi hair straightener should i get?
I have similar hair to yours, and I love the original, the chi 1 ceramic iron (the black one with the gold straightening part). I have used the conair ones, and not gotten even close to the same results as I do with this one. I would say that the extra money for the ones with the ';bells and whistles'; probably isn't worth it.

*edit* I just thought of something after I answered. I got my straightener from a beauty supply outlet. They are the places where stylists buy their products and tools. If you have a friend who is a stylist, talk to him/her about buying it for you. It's cheaper than EBay and it'll be brand new! What chi hair straightener should i get?

You can buy a Chi Hair straightener pretty much anywhere. I got this trial one that's really good directly from the Chi company itself. All I needed to do was try it out for at least 60 days and then give feedback every few days.

It works really awesome, it just heats up super fast and takes me about 5 minutes to straighten my hair and I got really long wavy hair.

I'm not sure if there are any left, but you can always try http://www.freesamplesfromheaven.com/chi…

    I suggest this one:

    http://www.folica.com/CHI_Ceramic_Fla_d1…

It's the';Original CHI.'; It straightens, curls, and flips your hair. It's tricky at first to curl your hair with it (and for it to actually look good). But once you get the hang of it, you can do a lot of things with your hair. This straightener works REALLY good. It's simple, and it's really all you will need. I use it everyday.

You can buy one online @ the link above. Or they have it at amazon.com starting @ $64.89.
You can buy a CHI Hair straightener from http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8%26amp;…
CHI is a really good investment because it really is I think the best, and you can buy it online for cheaper.
They have them at sallys, Ultra, Target n walmart i think. Another good brand is Jibere, they are awesome n str8n ur hair in one stroke!! i love them!!
I'd buy one from Folica since they have a really great warranty policy (makes for easy replacement) and their prices are stellar.
I saw them at Target stores and Sally's Beauty Salon.

iThe chi holds curl in my hair, but my hair holds any curl I put in it. It seems that your hair is the problem, not the curling iron or straightener...maybe you need to find a good product to use like Big Sexy Hair (sounds weird I know) but their line really makes hair hold a curl. Give it a shot b4 you spend over $100 on a hair straightener, when all you want is a curl!!Does your hair hold curl from using your chi hair straightener?
If your hair doesn't hold a curl (or straight for that matter) with a regular curling iron, It's not going to hold it regardless of what kind you use. Your only hope is lots of stong holding hairspray.
i have a cortex and to curl it i sperate it into sections. just make sure you hairspray each section and it will hold about 9 hours.
No, it doesn't hold at all. I have a regular Revlon curling iron and it works much better than my Chi.
It holds my curls, but I have wavy hair. I curl my hair and then I put on Aussie spritzer and it holds my curls practically all day.
no it just goes back to normal after you curl it for an hour or so

Which chi hair straightener should i get, the original or the turbo? and should i get the 1 inch or the 2 inch?

I have thick curly hair that goes to a little below my shoulders. And whats the difference between 1 inch and 2 inch? Thanks!Which chi hair straightener should i get, the original or the turbo? and should i get the 1 inch or the 2 inch?

Hey.. I got answer to your yahoo question . Just check out the below link. Hope you find what you are looking for. All you need to do is little search.

What size Chi hair straightener do you use?

I want to buy one... the most popular one seems to be the 1 inch... this seems really small? Is this what most hair-stylists use? What size Chi hair straightener do you use?
yes it is the popular choice of many stylists around. with the 1 inch you have more control of what you want to do with your hair. you can flip, curl, bump, etc. It's way better than the other one, unless you really are more comfortable using a bigger size, i suggest going with the 1 inch. What size Chi hair straightener do you use?
    1 inch

the bigger ones are SUPER annoying and with the 1 inch you can curl your hair :D (http://www.wonderhowto.com/how-to/video/鈥?/a>

skinny ones are better because they focus on a certain section of the hair at a time and you have more control. it may take longer, but they work so much better.

  • I have a Chi hair-straightener. I am visiting Japan. Do I need a volt convertor or just the plug adapter?

I am not sure what the voltage is.

I am pretty sure I need the plug adapter so my blow dryer, straightener, and charger can can fit into the Japan outlet sockets. I am not sure if I need to buy the convertor though. The convertor is expensive! Please help!I have a Chi hair-straightener. I am visiting Japan. Do I need a volt convertor or just the plug adapter?
Japanese voltage is only like...10 volts different from voltage in the USA. The last time I was there I ran my laptop and recharged my mp3 player regularly without using a voltage adapter and didn't have any problems. If you're going to stay for more than a month or two you might want to get an adapter, especially if you have any expensive items that would be difficult to replace. The voltage difference might damage the item eventually, especially if you leave it plugged in all the time. But if you're going to be there for a short time and you don't plan on leaving the item plugged in constantly, you can probably just get the plug adapter. Japanese plugs are usually two equally-sized vertical slots. Some of your things might actually work without the adapter (I found that I didn't need one at all for my mp3 player's charging cord), but you should definitely bring one just in case.

By the way, houses and hotels don't run on different voltages, so advice like this should work for both situations.I have a Chi hair-straightener. I am visiting Japan. Do I need a volt convertor or just the plug adapter?
Even with a converter your appliances will not work properly, or get as hot. If you are from a country that uses 220V, it is quite possible that your appliances will get fried.

If you are from North America where the voltage is 110, your dryer, straightener and charger will be much slower, and will not heat up as much.

The voltage in Japan is called 110V A/C, but the actual current is 102 ~ 108V, whereas in North America the alternating current ranges from 108 ~ 112V.

Only in the newest hotels have they included the proper wiring for 220V.

Having said that, there is no need to bring your blow dryer, as practically all hotels now supply these.
    What country are you from?

If from North America, most North American items will work in Japanese plugs and voltage without problems, because the plugs are the same (except if you have a three prong plug, then you need a adapter to 2 prong plug), Japan's voltage is 100v vs 120 in the US, but thats no problem.

If you are not from the US/Canada then you might need an adapter and or converter.

If you are from the US you should be ok in most points. No converter is really necessarily.
I was with a host family in Nagano, Japan. Don't worry everything plus in normally. I didn't have any problems. Have fun =]
You don't need to bring any kind of converter or anything.

Where I can buy an original CHI hair straightener iron on Internet?

Ebay is a good site or amazon?

I'm looking for cheap irons!Where I can buy an original CHI hair straightener iron on Internet?
As I am sure you know...CHI Straighteners are some of the most expensive (and best) straighteners on the market. If you are really in the market to get the best, Folica.com would be the best place to buy from. But, you are looking for a deal...so, I would try eBay.com as opposed to Amazon.com as you will probably get a better deal bidding on one that buying it outright. In a simple search on eBay.com, I found irons in the price range of ';Starting Bid'; price of .99 cents to a Buy It Now price of $189.99 (for the dryer and the straightener). FYI: the straightener is amazing but the dryer is only so so.

Note: I have purchased items from both Amazon and eBay for years. As long as the seller on eBay has tons of positive comments, your experience should be just fine.Where I can buy an original CHI hair straightener iron on Internet?

  • What is the best device to enable me to use my CHI hair straightener in France?

I'm going to France in April and I need to know the best converter or whatever I need to buy to be able to use my CHI hair straightener there. Also, will I able to use the same thing to charge my camera battery and use my curling iron, or do I need to buy something seperate for each one? What is the best device to enable me to use my CHI hair straightener in France?
France power supply runs at 220V which is similar to most part of Europe, and the electrical outlets are suited for two-pins round plug. (http://www.kropla.com/!e.htm )

If you hair straightener has the ability to handle 220V voltage, then all you need to do is make sure you have the right plug adaptor.

I don't know where you are from. If US, you should know that the majority of equipments from US are made to handle 110V but quite a lot of new electrical items (eg laptops) are nowadays made with inbuilt converter that it can handle both 220V and 110V. Check your manual for further specs information.

If you are unsure, or that your hair straightener is meant to work on 110V only, then you must get a voltage converter/transformer. You can get it in a kit that comes with plug adaptor, such as this one (http://www.amazon.com/Unknown-Internatio鈥?/a> ). This will make sure only the right voltage goes into your equipment, and that the pinhead would be a match.

You can use the same thing for your other electrical items such as camera battery charger, but of course you will only be able to use one item at a time.

How do i curl my hair with a chi hair straightener?

okay ive tried but my hair just goes all messed up.will someone help me?How do i curl my hair with a chi hair straightener?
I have a CHI hair straightner as well, it's pretty simple. Buy a curling spray or cream to put in your hair and blow dry it. When your hair is dry, the curling cream mixed with the heat of the hair dryer will give you wavy hair. To complete the look take your flat iron, clamp the hair in it like your straightening it, and then twist it around like you would with a curling iron. Hold it for a second and then let go. It should curl! How do i curl my hair with a chi hair straightener?
You need to use some product that has hold and protects your hair from heat. Usually called a working spray or styling spray. CHI infra texture - dual action hair spray is great. Spray it on your hair, wrap your hair around the iron like a curling iron.

Usually like if u wanan get it somewhere like cheaper i would say Target and it's about $115 between 120. It depends which one u decide to get. Also i reccomend the Hai.. That is an awesome straightener it heats up to 400 degrees and it is about $75-80. It seems it's alittle cheaper than the chi but it works just as good. Thats the pricing for the one i have .. Usually about $150. I suggest the Wet-N-Straight straightener. Though you can't use it on wet hair like the company says, it works just like a CHI on dry hair and it's only $29.99.
it is around 120-140 dollars. but it is worth it! they are they best!

  • What is so great about the Chi hair straightener?

I use a cheap hand-me-down straightener that, at the time I got it, I thought would be temporary - until I realized that I really have no clue of what any good products are. Recently, all of my friends have been talking about the Chi hair straightener. So, what's so great about it? Are there any downsides? What is so great about the Chi hair straightener?
i think its great! it gets ur hair super straight and u can even curl with it. i guess i could say the only bad thing about it is tht u cant adjust how hot u want it to be. but tht doesnt bother me. hope i answered ur question! What is so great about the Chi hair straightener?
i love it. it heats up in like thirty seconds and you can straighten your hair really fast with it. i havent had any down sides with it
there are many down sides about CHI's, they are way over rated and i think people make them sound way better than they actually are.
    Its just an expensive straightner.

What should I look for when buying a Chi hair straightener?

I have thin hair, if that helps. Would like to spend approx. $100. I just returned one today because it was permanently set at 410 degrees, and not adjustable! With thin hair, there's no way I could use that one! What should I look for when buying a Chi hair straightener?
go to http://www.beautychoice.com and you can see all the chi straighteners together and compare them. you should look for one that is comfortable for you to hold and has multiple settings. also make sure the plate is rounded on the edges (which i think they all are anyway) so you can use the straightener as a curling iron too :)What should I look for when buying a Chi hair straightener?
there arent many chi's that you can adjust but go to beauty choice.com. look through theirs, all of them are discounted. you may have to just use one that hott, what you'll need to do is make sure your hair is dry and then put straightener spray plus heat protectant. I meant like get one that has the straightening stuff in it and is a heat protectant. look at walmart. dont go to fast and dont keep running over the hair
Yea obvisously, you should get the adjustable kind. Get the thin plate blade as well. I have a CHI straightner and it's thin and adjustable.

What is so special about a Chi hair straightener?

Besides the temperature and how it lasts? Because I've used cheaper straighteners(from walmart, target, etc.) for the past 5 years and i've never had problems with them frying my hair. The cheaper ones also heat up to high temps(400F) in about 45 seconds and they seem to last around a good 3 years... So what does a chi have that others don't, besides a high price? What is so special about a Chi hair straightener?
Higher quality ceramic plates. But if you have hair that doesn't fry out with the cheap ones then go with those. I have hair that frys easily so I use a chi, but plenty of my friends use normal ones and have great hair. It all depends on the girl. What is so special about a Chi hair straightener?
I agree with the first response. I am also asking the same question myself. Like she said, if the cheap ones don't damage your hair, keep using them. An educated response: If your hair keeps getting damaged by cheap flat irons, try Chi.

There is no temp ';control'; it cuts off auto if it gets too hot much like some of the higher end hair straighteners.

When using a Chi hair straightener what type of protection products should I use?

I'm about to purchase a Chi hair straightener and i'm just wondering what products I could use to protect my hair and keep it looking straight and smooth. When using a Chi hair straightener what type of protection products should I use?
Chi makes their own protection products! They even sell it at Target (= Check it out. When using a Chi hair straightener what type of protection products should I use?
Well, you can use any type really. Chi makes their own heat protection product, so you could always use that, or a different one. i would suggest one that isn't just grease in a bottle! I use Lee Stafford, which is more like a hairspray than a grease, and helps to keep your hair looking amazing and not get frizzy

    Chi hair straightener?

I am wanting to purchase a chi hair straightener. Any advice? Is it worth the money? also the best answer will be given to whomever finds the cheapest one. MAKE SURE ITS REAL!! Thank you! Chi hair straightener?
It does work great...probably the best working flat iron I have ever used, but they tend to fall apart quicker than others (the plates will fall off after a while...I have seen more than a few of them do this after about six months of normal use). My best advice would be to go to Sally Beauty Supply and get either the generic version of the Chi or one in the Ion line. Keep in mind that any high end flat iron will have a temperature range up to 450, so if your hair is delicate keep it on a lower setting until you see how it works on your hair.Chi hair straightener?
well if u are planning to use it pretty often its so worth the money i use a choloche and i luv it my best friend has one and she luves it just make sure u finds one that is sturdy and lasts a long time and also make sure it is ceramic and make sure that is what you really want if it is buy it
I bought a chi a few months ago. I have probably only used it twice. My hair is really long and curly, and its just too small, and takes twice the amount of time as my other straightener, and gives me the same results. I wouldn't recomend it, but thats just me.
i have a chi, and they straighten good, but it pulls my hair a lot. and my hair doesnt stay straight for that long. i dont really think its worth it.
DON';T BUY IT!!!!!!! they are the worst straightners ever!! i have one and it cant keep a constant temperature
