Chi Hair Straightener?

My older sister got a straightener for Christmas last year or the year before that my mom bought off of eBay. It broke recently and we bought another one. My mom and me also own a HotStyler hair straightener, but my hair is extremely thick and curly, so the HotStyler doesn't make as good an ';impact'; on my hair. Basically, we have three straightener's, two working and one broken. My sister's friend knows a place to get the broken one fixed, but my sister won't bother to ask her. Does anyone know a place in Newfoundland (Avalon Peninsula) that I can get my Chi Straightener fixed (quickly) ? Thanks :]Chi Hair Straightener?
Hey there!

If your Chi straightener is broken, bring it back to the place you bought it. I have a Chi and it broke too, so i brought it back to where i got it and they gave me a brand new one! It was awesome! They will definately replace it and give you a new one, so thats your best bet =)

Thank for your question %26amp; Good luck to you!Chi Hair Straightener?
i would go with a different straightener than a chi,

maybe PauluMitchell one because the chi severely broke my hair off.

just a suggestion, you can do whatever you want.

just a tip.

CHI hair straightener....?

Ok I am thinking about getting a CHI hair straightener (CHI 1'; red toile scroll iron) and i am wondering if it is a good hair straightener? I have gone through about 4 or 5 hair straighteners in the past 1 or 2 years (about $40-$80 each) but obviously CHI is a little more expensive... I want one that will last about 3 years or more... and still be good quality... does anyone know?CHI hair straightener....?
I work at JcPenney salon and the Red Toile Scroll iron is a JcPenney exclusive iron. To be honest, all of the JcPenney exclusive CHI irons are pretty poor quality. That's why I suggest that people buy the reqular black one. CHI is definately worth the money! I have had mine for 2 years and have never had a problem. This is the only one that keeps my frizzy, wavy, coarse hair straight all day. It has ceramic plates that can work wonders on even the most coarse of hair! The CHI has a lifetime warranty, as long as you keep the box, you can send it and a $15 check in the box back to the manufacturer and they will fix it or replace it for you. Email me and I can send you a coupon for an additional 20% off of the CHI @ JcPenney. The coupon works for the 9th of December, which is the same day that the CHI goes on sale there for 20% off.

Btw, squeeze sensitive means that if you are squeezing the straightener to tight, it won't pull your hair and cause breakage because the plates can be pushed in and rotate.CHI hair straightener....?
I have a CHI, and it works wonderfully. I've had it for a while now, and not only is it easy to use, it gives very good results. During the whole time I've used it my hair hasn't gotten split ends and it also in my case makes me hair feel softer and smoother!

Also, depending on which one you get , I can use mine to curl my hair as well (or make it wavy, flipped, etc.!) With that 1in one that you want I believe you can too.
you should deffinitetely get the CHI!!!! they are AMAZING, I have used lots of straightners and it works the best, it straightens my hair quickly, heats up fast (60 sec), causes less split ends, saves tons of time, and they last for years! ( i know a lady who has had hers for 10 years and it still works great! and they have a gaurentee policy for the first year and it's only 30 dollars to have it fixed after that

almost all beauticians that i know also reccomend the CHI

plus, you can even curl your hair with it!

as you can tell, i love my CHI! haha so yes get it!! :)
I have a Sedu personally and I really love it. But my 2 nieces have the Original CHI model and they are extremely happy with it. The oldest one told me she had burned out 2 el'cheapo straighteners before getting the CHI. The 2 of them have used it 5 or 6 times a week for over a year now.

Squeeze sensitive is supposed to mean that the more you squeeze, more heat is directed to the hair. It could also mean that you can get better results with minimal pulling on your hair (less damage too).

As for the quality, yes, a couple of years ago they had a problem with the power cord. It was often related to people wrapping the cord tightly around the body. The wires broke and the units stopped working. The newer models have a power cord that rotates in a round socket, although if you treat it gently, you should not need this.

Oh, and btw, the Original CHI is less than $85 so its not all that high a price. I would NOT buy it on Ebay though. I have heard too many stories about fakes.
I strongly suggest the CHI. I have had one for over 2 years now, and it is working great (by far the best one I've ever had)! I haven't had any problems with mine, but someone I know did break theirs. It was completely their fault, but all they had to do was put it back in the original box with the warranty paper and they replaced it no questions asked! So just keep your box!
Chi is one of the best. We have them at work, and they last at least that long in a salon setting (used daily, many times a day)
Chi was a great iron if you can still find one of the originals. There are hundreds of fake chi irons out there ...Ebay is full of them. I have a suggestion for you and it is really inexpensive too. Designer Melissa Kaye has a flat iron that works great , has a lifetime warranty, has all the features most irons have today and the cost is under $20.....if you go on ebay right now they are $9.99....just can't go wrong...Check there feedback and customers reviews too.
Forget about CHI - now that they've upped thier production, and are openly selling the product to any store that will take them, expect the quality to plummet. I highly suggest a ';GHD'; brand styling iron - it seems CHI also sold thier advanced technology, and GHD made a better mousetrap. It's a bit of an investment, but for SURE worth it. Expect at least 3 years worth of valuable service, and more.

  • Chi hair straightener...?

I'm getting one for xmas, I have extremely thick, medium length hair - will they make it REALLY straight?

Every hair straightener i've owned in the past hasn't really done a great job, and left my hair with a wave or two in it.

I've also heard that chi's tend to have problems early on in their ';life';... and usually break after 6months-1year - is this true? If so, can I do anything to prevent this?Chi hair straightener...?
DO NOT GET CHI. it will break within 8 months and you have to pay $35 plus shipping to get it fixed.

Chi is being recalled now due to fire hazards. see:

    http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtm/a>Chi hair straightener...?
i got mine for x-mas and it works really good! i get my hair thinned every 2 months because it is so curly and frizzy!! it normally takes me 45min to straighten it really good but now it only takes 4min. i love it so much and it makes it feel thinner too!! plus it has a year warrenty so if it goes bad you can hand it in and get a new one for free! its awesome! email me at aj_ryan10@yahoo.com and lemme kno how it works!
i got mine a year ago and they r still working well i think they r really good
I have had a Chi for over a year and it is the best investment I have ever made as far as hair care. I have very wavey fine hair and all the other ones that I have used just made my hair frizz. I havn't had any issues, and mine came with a life time warrenty, I don't know if your dose, but you may want to check.
i have a chi and my hair is 30 inches long and very very thich i can barely brush it! but when i got the chi it worked fabulous! it would defintley work for you!

    Chi hair straightener?

hi umm i want a straightener that will straighten my hair and can curl it a little bit and i want a chi one i heard its really good but i dont know which one to get and my hair breaks at the ends alot any suggestions???Chi hair straightener?
i have the regular limited edition pink CHI. it straightens and curls. my hair breaks off at the ends too.. all straighteners do that if you use it almost everyday like me.Chi hair straightener?
my friend has the chi turbo, and it amazing!

im getting one soon, i highly reccomend it
chi turbo i use that one its awesome and yes i curls ur hair at the end

    Chi hair straightener?!?

Whats so great about the chi hair straighteners? Are they a lot better for ur hair lke not damage it and stuff or are they just good for it? Do u recommend it??Chi hair straightener?!?
I have heard good thing's and bad thing's about Chi. I heard it works well, but then again I hear it breaks about a year of use. I don't really know. Personally I think the ';cheap'; brands work as well as the ';expensive'; brands. You should try buying a inexpensive brand first and if it does not work buy a expensive hair straightener.

As long as the flat iron has ceramic plates it won't damage your hair.Chi hair straightener?!?
they are definitely a step above all the rest.

the plates on it are actually ceramic, they do not just have a ceramic coating on it... this means that they last until the electrical part breaks, which is basically never. on a cheaper straightener, the coating wears off, and you end up having to by a whole new one. in the end, you will spend probably the same amount of money, so you might as well just get a chi now!
They get really hot. I love mine. Its amazing
chi straighteners are just about the best out there. ihave had mine for over 3 years, and it was the best investment i have ever made. it heats up extremely fast, and gets much hotter than most straighteners, which makes it possible to get the curliest of curly hair striaght. i have fine hair, but tons of it, and it makes my hair bone straight. i also use it every day, and it doesn't damage my hair as much as the ';walmart brand'; straighteners did before.

i would deffinitly suggest it to anyone who is willing to pay the extra $50 for it. it's well worth it.

    hope this helps:]
I have super curly hair, and one of my friends had the Chi Turbo 1 inch flat iron, and she used it on me, man..that was the STARIGHTEST hair I've ever had, and she didn't even put any products on me, I was amazed.
i had a chi and i first loved it and now a year later its broke i took care of it idk why its broke but alot of my friends had one too and theres broke about a year later.. i wouldnt spend the money on it. there are alot of good straighteners our there that work just the same or better and are not that much i bought a new one called jilbere and its great and was only 40 dollars at sallys beauty supply store and it works better than my chi did and gets hotter!
chi is the best.. It gets hotter, plus if you chi hair products it prevents hair damage from the heat.... they are a investment. I have had mine for 3yrs and going strong...
They are no better than a regular saightener they just get hotter. You can buy one if you want the labe but other wise you arent getting anything better than a regular straightener.
no a chi straightener is no better than the next. an anytime you apply that much high heat to ur hair there is no way to protect it unless you use a protect serum or cream b4 u flat iron. chi straighteners are only a ceramic overlay. not fully ceramic. ppl just thinkt hey are awesome bc they are chi. %26amp; chi flat irons break too easy. but no i would not recommend it.i would recommend then HAI :)

    CHI hair straightener?

ok, i sraighten my hair with a chi and it is fine, then like an hour later it is already all wavy, i use this really good hair straightening cream, and when my hair was like an inch or two shorter a while ago, it seemed to work fine. Anyone know what is wrong? has this happend to u with a CHI straightenrr?CHI hair straightener?
Okay CHI starighteners are the best and it should work for any hair....Im hispanic and I have African American hair....well sort of u could say NAPPY! lol well one of the problems that I noticed on my hair \is that I don't put anything in my hair....creams and oils used to make my hair so conditioned that it wouldn't straighten out right...it had that thick oily look ugh! so what i do now is that I wash my hair...and done deal...just let it dry completely and straighten it...what you can do afterwards is put just a lil bit of sheen but don't over do it!CHI hair straightener?
If you've had the Chi for a long time that could be it.

After a while of using a straightner alot ecspecially of you leave it on on accident sometimes it can basiclly not get as hott and not work as good. Or maybe your hair just isant right for striaghtening you cal get it permenitly straightned at the salon.
sometimes, we all just have to face the fact that our hair won't do what we want it to. CHI straighteners are the best of the best, so, if it doesn't work, your hair could just be the problem. Don't waste your time with it, you don't want to fry it.

What is i.Chi -- is it different than Chi? (Hair straighteners)?

This store is selling these hair straightener flat irons for $105. It's called i. Chi and comes with different designs. I've have a Chi for a long time, I believe it's ceramic, and it's been great but it died. Now I want to know if this iChi is as good or if this is a cheaper line of Chi products? I don't think the i. Chi is ceramic either. Can anyone tell me what these are and if they are any good?

Chi doesn't have an official website, which I find really odd, and I can't figure out anything about my old model, GF 1001.What is i.Chi -- is it different than Chi? (Hair straighteners)?
the iChi is good but there are plenty of other straighteners that are cheaper and work better than a chi or iChi. i have a straightner called a jilbere tourmaline and it works way better than a chi and it was under $50 =) hope i helped

People who love chi hair straighteners! help me plz?

I haven't bought one, and I'm going to, money isn't really a concern. What is the best one to get? I heard something about a nano one? Also, how do I know what size to get (1 or 2 inch, etc) what different things can you do with the different sizes? I have fine color treated hair so I definitely am interested in temp control (sorry I am unaware if they all have that or not)

Anyways, thanks a lot for your help!, I'll be sure to leave points.

If anyone has recommends for a great therm protect that would be awesome too.People who love chi hair straighteners! help me plz?
I am a hair stylist and have had my chi for over a year with no problems. It is an excellent iron, Ive tried them all, the generics are no comparison. The only downfall is there is no temp. control, but the chi protective spray is EXCELLENT. I use my chi every day and no damage. Good luck, and dont listen to people who dont have experience with the product.People who love chi hair straighteners! help me plz?
you be best off asking someone who actually sells them. on here all youre gonna get is people telling you how much they like theirs when in reality its prob the only one theyve ever owned so what do they know. my only advice is the expensive ones are expensive for a reason. generally worth the money. they take care of your hair pretty well considering youre blasting it with an intense amount of heat daily. good luck
This will give you all the info you need: http://www.folica.com
get FHI heat, its BETTER and cheaper than a CHI.
    i loveeee my chi(:

    it's pink! haha.

like i said, i have a chi, and it's the 1 inch. the 2 inch is just bigger in size. No, the chi's arn't temp controled. for heat protector i use the ';44 iron guard'; which is a CHI product as well. it's a spray you put on dry hair before you flat iron. hope this helps!
honestly i wouldn't buy a chi they break really really easily go to sally's and get the ';generic chi'; thats seriously the name of it lol. yea but i have one and its awesome
I prerfer cheap hair straightener because it gives you the ';natural'; look and doesn't look like your straightened your hair because the chi makes your hair look paper-ish (super smooth) and i don't like that for some reason.. but if you're willing to pay a high price for a straightener, i prefer a sedu. if you get a chi, get the products made by chi. and don't get a wet to dry hair straightener.. it damages the crap out of your hair. plus, the chi isn't that great because the straightening plats slides off easily.. from what i heard cause it never happened to me.
well...i think you should get the one you can use on wet hair, so you dont always have to blow dry when its wet. all of them have good protection.

Thats what I did and it works great! It is definitely worth the money. It gets really hot which is good except when you burn your ear. Like I did. Five minutes ago. It hurts.

I would also recommend getting some sort of straightening hair product that will protect it because it will fry your hair if you don't.Chi Hair Straighteners!!?

Chi flat-irons or one of the best on the market. $94 is really cheap too. You would be basically buying is at wholesale price.

I've have had mine for 3 yrs and use it on most of my clients in the salon.

I don't know exactly which model you're looking at but I would recommend the brand.

Yes, they have straighteners in Target.

Use heat protectant always, with any kind of straightener. It makes the hair less succeptable to damage. It doesn't matter what the heat source; Chi heat isn't any safer than other flat iron/curling iron/blow dryer heat!
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons (hair straighteners), including Sedu, HAI, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss, Ghd, T3, Kenta etc.

    In terms of performance -

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands.

Above average: CHI, HAI, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

    Hope that helped!!!!

    Chi Hair straighteners??

I have really curly hair. I don't wanna flat iron my hair every day, just occasionally so tell me some stuff about them...are they worth the $$$, about how much do they cost, how well do they straighten ur hair, do they make ur hair shinyer???? anything else you wanna add would be kewl too!!! thanx %26lt;3Chi Hair straighteners??
You can just get a perm. signed the GangsterChi Hair straighteners??
I have one and it is amazing!!!!! I have really curly hair and i use the CHI because it gets really hot and doesnt damage my hair.

I've seen it cost from as little as $100 all the way up to $150, it all depends on where you buy it. It is really worth it.
I have a Chi and it is the best. Price is about $110-$125. Just make sure you get some thermal hair products to help protect your hair. I use Kenra Thermal Styling Spray.
i have really curly hair too , and i've had this iron for 2 years. it still works perfectly and is well worth the money. my hair is so thick and curly , and this is the only straightener that makes it stick straight. mine was 130 dollars at a hair salon. my hair is soo shiny when it is straightened and it barley has any damage after 2 years of straightening 5 days a week. i love it so much and i wouldnt use anything else.
I had curly long hair until i straighten it with this flat iron called andis at walmart for 14.99. It really works because i couldn't find anything at first. Now i have long straight hair. Just wrap it every night and wear a scarf. It last for a long time you might have to touch it up sometimes. And use pressing oil.

    Chi hair straighteners...?

Are they dual voltage? Specifically, the Chi turbo, will they work on British/European voltage (240v), if I have a US to UK adaptor. Also, if they're not dual voltage, will they work with a voltage transformer (US voltage to UK voltage, and up to 100 watts) or will it fry them?

    ThanksChi hair straighteners...?
By Folica the original model and also the turbo does not work.

    ';Works in USA and Canada with 110 voltage. Converter can NOT be used.';

i just got a chi for christmas and i LOVE it. its so amazing. it leaves my hair so straight and shiny.

i would say its totally worth it. its also healthier for your hair. Are CHI hair straighteners good ?
Yes! Chi is the best hair straightener, i think its absolutely worth the price. You could try buying it- and if you dont like it, return it. (: It straightens pretty well, and it could also crimp, curl, and flip. I hope this helps. :D Good luck.
Omg yes thy re amazing!!!!!! Just I reccomend also using a heat protectant cuz they do get hot. But they are the best straightners!!!!
CHI's are definitaly worth it!! And they are not that expensive if you buy them from Folica.com or Beautychoice.com.

Check out those two websites and you can compare prices! :)

    Chi hair straightener????

is there somewhere were the chi straightener is cheaper? like any store......and how much are they?

is it good for my thick puffy frizzy hair........

oh and how long does it take u to straighten all ur hair?......

    thnx :)Chi hair straightener????
I am Hispanic and I have super curly and frizzy hair and it really works! Its the BEST flat iron I've ever used but they don't last very long they break in a year or 2. You can buy it on folica.com for about 80 bucks! and its real I ordered mine from there and although it broke in less than a year it still basically paid for itself, and they have a 1 year warranty on it they send you a BRAND NEW one when it breaksChi hair straightener????
Most Chi flat irons do not have temperature control, which is key to keeping your hair healthy, along with a heat protectant before you straighten your hair. A good quality flat iron (salon professional) will run you about 100-150$ definitely find one with a temperature control. as far as how long it takes that depends on your hair quality and density and length!
you can try getting them used....maybe....but chi's are expensive. i got mine at target for around 200 something dollars. :/ and after a while they start to die out, like ive had it for some months now, maybe, 4 or 5 maybe even 6 and when i first got it, it worked G R E A T but its sorta starting to suck now. and thinking that i payed 200 something for it makes me feel like it was bad idea buying it....but oh well, it worked 200000 times better then my other strightener, shitty conair one.

anyway, your just going to have to look around you know, but i dont think you can get one lower then $100, 90 maybe if your lucky.

oh and my hair takes about 15-20 minutes to straighten cuz i have short hair and its not that curly just slightly wavy and thin not course. c:
I have black people hair and it takes me 45min with my wet to straight and an hour with a blow dryer and a straighter or about 40min with dry hair.

Chi is good look for sales, JC Penny has sales for them all the time.
If you live near a Harmon or Bed Bath and Beyond you can get one there a little cheaper and then use a 20% off coupon.

Which model of CHI hair straighteners is best for me?

I have recently heard that the brand of hair straightener you use does matter.

I heard CHI is the best

I have naturally curly hair and some models don't really specify what their best for.

I'm looking for one that can hold my hair striaght all day, or the school day for that matter.

    I have P.E. which doesn't help

and a relaxer is out of the question due to some troubles in school

So..can anyone help??Which model of CHI hair straighteners is best for me?
Get a Regular 1 inch Chi flat iron. There are just different sizes of the Regular and Turbo Chi iron. And the only difference between the regular and turbo is the turbo has a dial to modify the heat that it produces, which reallt isnt neccesary in my opinion.

I believe that the Chi is the best flat iron out there and well worth the money. I have used a Helen Of Troy before and it really pulled at my hair.

Get the Chi and if you can get you some Chi product for your hair, either the shampoo or some thermal protectant spray.

The Chi Silk Infusion serum is awesome as well. It makes your hair a nice soft shiney finish.

But for sure you need some protectant.

Question about chi hair straighteners(if you own one)?

i have had the pink one for about a year, works wonders! Well like 5 months ago, something happened and like now if I want it to work, I have to maneuver the cord a certain way and hold it there, like i guess some how a hole got in the cord and I have to hold the wires together for it to turn on, has anyone else had this problem? I can't use the warente thing cause I bought it off ebay. But when I first had it it was brand new.Question about chi hair straighteners(if you own one)?
thats exactly what happened to mine! Theres no way to fix it....get a ghd next, i just got one after my chi died and its even better than chi!

Also-thats a very common problem with chisQuestion about chi hair straighteners(if you own one)?
sounds like your chi has a short in the wires. I would purchase a new one. My wife got her chi from the site below hope it helps.
that happened to my laptop once. haha. my chi just broke 2 days ago and im upset =[ had it for 2 years and the switch came out.

anyway i suggest you buy a new one, because theres nothing you can really do
ohh, yea that happend to me ndd my cousin, i got mine last christmas ndd it broke like to weeks ago so my nana had to buy me another one bc we lost the box ndd couldnt send it back to get another one.
My hair dresser told me to always make sure that the cord is always straight and not twisted because you can break pieces inside the wire, and it won't work as well.
Nope, i didn't face such problem yet. I have been using my chi turbo last 1 month.
ew i hate my chi, get a better iron for your hair.

Are CHI hair straighteners really worth it?

I'm looking for a new straightener, because I have a Revlon that I got at Target for like $23 and it's doesn't get my hair very straight and on a good day when I can get my hair straight, it doesn't last long and It will take me like 2 hours, so I think I have very difficult hair. But anyway, I heard that the CHI is a really good brand, but I read some reviews on amazon.com and it said that it broke after a few months. For others, it said that it broke within the warranty and the company refused to refund it or return it.

Has anyone ever actually had any of these problems? Is the CHI hair straightener a good investment?

Thanks in advance! Are CHI hair straighteners really worth it?
    its okay.

the Babyliss nano silver works reaaaally good

it leaves your hair shiney and smooth

and if your hair is damage you wont be able to notice

    its literally the best

we use it in our class salonAre CHI hair straighteners really worth it?
CHI makes really good products, but they don't back them up very well. Paul Mitchell is just as good, if not better, and also cheaper, and more durable.
well i've had it, and it was fine.

but i recently splurged on the new inStyler straightener, and it's great!

it really does it's job on difficult hair. and it doesn't add more damage.

    check it out.
i think they are. i have 2 one of them is like 2 or 3 years old and it still works REALLY good. %26amp;%26amp; the one i mostly use now i've had for about a year and they both work great %26amp;%26amp; its the only brand of straighteners that actually gets my hair how straight i want it!
no i had mine for a year and works fine but use heat protection!!
