What are the best plates for a flat iron (hair straightener)?

Titanium , ceramic , or tourmalineWhat are the best plates for a flat iron (hair straightener)?
depends on your hair type. i prefer ceramic for my fine straight hair. What are the best plates for a flat iron (hair straightener)?
ceramic is the best. Mine goes up to 250 degrees and I have the kinkiest curliest hair and not to mention the frizzy hair and it works great for me.
i like ceramic plates best.

its good for your hair and it glides easily without messing up your hair.

What is your favorite brand of flat iron hair straightener?

For instance, Sedu, Chi, Conair, etc. What is your favorite brand of flat iron hair straightener?
I use CHI. I love the stuff! What is your favorite brand of flat iron hair straightener?
CHI

I can't do without mine!!!
CHI it is the best...hands down! This is the only thing that keeps my natural curly locks straight!
My hair straight already. In japan only Ainu have curl hair.
Sedu

Is $81.97 a lot for a package of a curling iron,hair straightener,and a catwalk hairspray?

That's a really good price. But check to make sure if the quality is good.

Good luck!!Is $81.97 a lot for a package of a curling iron,hair straightener,and a catwalk hairspray?
ooo heck no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

especially if they're high quality!!!!!!!!!!

a curling iron or straightner wud go 4 that alone if they were rlly good!!!!!!!!!!!Is $81.97 a lot for a package of a curling iron, hair straightener, and a catwalk hairspray?
hey, if you get what you pay for, sounds good to me. i personally would pay that and probably more.
Not at all! But they are probably awful quality; my straightener alone was $250....
No hell of a way! That is cheap as! Great deal! Get it now!
Thats a great price!!
NO!!!

most are around 80$ for each (not the hair spray)

GHD or CHI FLAT IRON hair straightener?

Which one do you think is better?

oh and one more thing,

can you buy the chi flat iron in australia? and where?GHD or CHI FLAT IRON hair straightener?
definitely ghd!GHD or CHI FLAT IRON hair straightener?
ghd is alottt better
definetly GHD!!! one of the best ones i've used. and i've used a lot! trust me! CHI doesn't really measure up to what everyone says. i was very dissapointed when i bought it.

but there's an even better one than GHD which is T3 by bespoke labs. this is their website:

http://www.t3micro.com/store/index.php?m/a>

http://www.t3micro.com/irons/

GHD and T3 both work superrrr well. they straighten so quickly and don't damage hair! and the T3 can be used on wet or dry hair. (the one that i have) and both leave my hair soft, smooth, shiny, silky, and super straight! i can leave it in for a full week without having a hair out of place (not that i do because i wash my hair often lol)

and CHI, it took forever to straighten, it burned my hair. the first one i got didn't have a temperature change dial. the second one after i used it for a month it broke. not worth the price.

GHD and T3 are more expensive than CHI but well worth the price.

as for getting a chi in australia, they might have specialty retailers around. or they might sell them in malls or hair salons or hair supply stores. or go online and order it there. i got my T3 from Bed Bath and Beyond. lol it was on sale for $100 and it was a really good model! :]

hope i helped!!

good luck!!
CHI, I have had mine for 3 years and LOVE IT !

GHD burned out after 2 years,

im not sure if you can get it in australia or not, but you could definitely get it shipped there, try a local salon, thats where I got mine
depends what type of hair you have and how much you have to spend.

answer mine plz%26gt; http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind/a>
CHI
Well it really depends on the look you want. I have done a lot of research on this. The ghd is a little bit higher quality and is know to get the hair the straightest out of all flat irons, if that is what you are going for. People use the chi a lot in salons because they are easy to handle all day long and user friendly, but you prob. will not be using it all day long on diff. people anyway. Younger people tend to like the look that they get from the chi more, so it depends on your age, watch people using the chi and see why they like it so much...

if you cannot find the chi and still want it, consider the Fhi Heat professional which is comparable to the chi but has extra features the chi does not and the fhi is cheaper. I have the Fhi Platform for the tourmaline and other benefits

Either way, if you want adj. heat settings, than neither one are the way to go...if you want something that is the easiest to handle in your hand, the chi is best, but I would say get the original chi, those are known to have the best performance
THE CHI !!! It's one of the best straightener in the world (:

But the best straightener in the world would be a Jilbere De Paris.

http://www.sallybeauty.com/tourmaline-fl/a>

It's in the Tourmaline Series (:

I have one and with my REALLY REALLY curly hair I used it and it looks like I have naturally straight hair

It's the best!

Trust (:

You probably can order one on line and get it shipped on AU?

Hoped I help!

(:
I think CHI is better and its more afordable although both are quite expensive.

My flat iron/hair straightener just went on me and I need to buy a new one. Any suggestions? I want a good one

I have the Original CHI and I love it, it works great!! Also if you know anybody who is good with electrical stuff, you could most likely have them fix yours for you. My Chi went out (after about 5 years of use) and my husband found a bad spot in the wire, so he cut off the bad spot and re-connected the wires and it works great! My flat iron/hair straightener just went on me and I need to buy a new one. Any suggestions? I want a good one
Well if you want a good one I suggest a CHI pricey, yes but well worth it. If you want a cheap, but good one, go buy a hot tools ceramic. They are amazing as well. And also thin, short hair? Get a small straightner. Thick hair? Get a big one. Hope I helped (:My flat iron/hair straightener just went on me and I need to buy a new one. Any suggestions? I want a good one
i think that you should get a chi. i have one, and it works great. it costs over $100, but it is a good investment, cuase it will last a long time, and most likely not break. it also makes your hair really strait, and doesn't require a lot of time
I have had the Gold and Hot ceramic 2 1/4 inch straightener for 7 years it is amazing and obviously lasts 4-ever

I have a Chi flat iron hair straightener?

i thought they were ceramic but the instructions say ceramic coated is that ok?

i dont want my hair damaged will it last.??

I have a Chi flat iron hair straightener?
chi is one of the best irons especially for the price you paid for it. Don't forget to use a straightening balm for your hair that is made for heat glide tools. Don't use the one made by chi it tends to make the hair greasy feeling. Althought the one made by Redken smooth down heat glide is one of the best. Good luck I hope this helps.I have a Chi flat iron hair straightener?
its fine it wont do any damage but the coating can come off so you might wanna get a real ceramic flatiron
From the reviews it looks like a good straightener. If your hair is thin..it may not work out as well. Just try straightening in larger pieces. (It's only one heat so if you have thin pieces it could burn and damage your hair) If its thick your probably fine.

    Flat iron hair straightener features?

What features will you look for when you buy a flat iron hair straightener? thanks!Flat iron hair straightener features?
ceramic, tourmaline, nano, knob to turn up and down heat, swivel cord (this is a biggie).

It also depends on your hair type, some of the cheapo straighteners will work, but it's better to get a more expensive one with true ceramic plates, not just a ceramic coating if you have curlier hair. :)Flat iron hair straightener features?
    i would like one that;

    1) heats up fast

The Corioliss ones are the best they r made of titanium and wont damage the hair as much. plus they have a heat remote that you can increase or decrease depending on what temperature you want
GHDs are the best! They are quite expensive but are the best ones you can get.

for that budget, i'd say thats a good bet.

I bought a babyliss pro 2085 flat iron hair straightener and i used it but didn't give me the expected result

i used my babyliss flat iron and although it's temp is really high it didn't give me a good result my hair was frizzy and when i use it it steams. can anyone help me? thanx a lotI bought a babyliss pro 2085 flat iron hair straightener and i used it but didn't give me the expected result
I have the same type and yes it did give me results similar to yours! Try using syrums before flat ironing like 'hask zero frizz' or 'frizz remedy'. I always get frizz afterwards but these sort of products make a difference and also try using a styling mouse or gel or maybe hairspray afterwards to get the desired style and perfection! Hope I helped and the frizz could be because your hair is prone to dryness so try some moisturizing treatments if that's the case! Good luck!I bought a babyliss pro 2085 flat iron hair straightener and i used it but didn't give me the expected result
Did you have dry hair when you used it? If wet or even damp it will cause hair to become frizzy and steam. Should use a flat iron on dry hair, and do it section by section, keeping the hair not ironed yet up in a clip(makes it a little easier)

  • What's the best flat iron (hair straightener)?

    For african american hair?

If you can't answer that, what do you think is the best quality one?

Have you tried it, and most importantly, where can I get, and the price range.

Thank you. What's the best flat iron (hair straightener)?
Definetly a CHI. It cost $129 at and it comes with a one year warrenty. I got mine on sale for $99 at a JC Penny. It is ceramic and is less damaging for your hair. This is what I do, I shampoo and condition my hair. Since I use heat on my hair I use an extra conditioner (I use Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment) and leave it in my hair for 15 mins. and then wash it out. I then apply CHI silk infusion to my hair evenly (just a dime or nickel size amount depending on how long your hair is) and then I blowdry my hair straight. After blowdrying I once again apply ANOTHER dime or nickel sized amount of CHI Silk Infusion to my hair (don't worry cause this stuff is not greasy). Next, I section my hair and begin straightening my hair a few strands at a time. VERY IMPORTANT I always spray my strands with 1.) Motions Heat Seeker Protecting Spray (or Aveda Brilliant Damage Control), 2.) Isoplus Oil Sheen, and 3.) Smooth n Shine Polishing Spray. It sounds like a lot, but just spray all three very lightly to protect your hair from the heat and to keep it conditioned. Especially if you have a relaxer. When you put the CHI in your hair to straighten it, turn it a little at the end like a curling iron and it gives your hair a nice little flip and a natural move to it. When done, your hair will come out really silky like from the salon. Make sure you wrap your hair up every night with a satin scarf and clip your ends every 4 to 6 weeks and grease your scalp. Good luck! What's the best flat iron (hair straightener)?
Chi is the best, I love it, works really fast and has so far lasted a year no probs, I paid 130.00 dollars, you could check ebay too. I bought mine at Regis.
I use the ';wet to straight'; and its cheap and works really great. I love it !
    conair
Chi, thats what i have. They are usually pretty expensive, but I got the chi turbo on ebay for like 70 dollars.
I have pretty thick, curly hair and I use Jilberes Tourmaline straightener with the red plates. It is about $70, but you can find it cheaper at Sally's Beauty Supply $45-$60. A lot people love Chi. It can be purchased at Target now for $120. However, it is the Paul Mitchell that you would probably want. It's an amazing straightener. It's expensive about $170, so I only have used it at my hair stylist's, but it is awesome. Definitely better than even Chi, I think.
ceramic by cricket price varies on size. try sallys.com for variations
one that gets hot and works.
Cermaics are really great they go for about 50 bucks! Best ones are in the states
i think max brush is the best, but its quite good expensive, and if u want a bit cheap then its conair and if u want more more cheap then u can go for scarlet hair crimper
I personally use a True Ceramic Pro.. i Love it!!! it's about $120. It heats up in like 20 seconds.. it works amazing!!

I also use a Miracle Mist (Alberto/V05) on my hair before hand!!

Best of luck for whichever product you buy!!

if you go to your nearest chemists they should be able to advice you. They did me this is basically what they said....

its best not to spent the most amount of money as there will probably be a better one out soon so theres not much point

in my personal opinion its best to stay away from wet to straight straighteners as they can dry your hair out, straighteners which heat up to very high temperatures can also do this.

the ones i have at the moment i think are good, they're the babyliss pro-230, they heat up to 230 degrees but this can be altered using a dial, and have tourmaline ceramic plates

    hope some of that helps
    chi is best
    Definitely the Chi! %26lt;3

However it's pricey, but worth it.
I will have to agree with everyone on this posting. The Chi is by far the best iron out there right now. There is a newer one (which I believe is red) that doesn't work as well. My friend had it and my hair kept getting stuck in it because of the velvet covering which is like a sticker, and breaking off.

The original Chi (which is black) is the best one because it doesn't break your hair, it heats up fast (at a high temperature) and is QUICK. You can literally straighten and go. The price is about 130-150 bucks, but well worth the money. It even comes with a complimentary one year warranty.

I used to also have the T3 straighterer, but I wasn't as big of a fan. It's definitely a high quality ';starter'; straightener, that runs around $160 dollars (with one year warranty), but not as efficient as the chi. If your hair has a slight wave, I would surely go for this one (because you can adjust the degree heat settings, while with the Chi you cannot), but if it's more on the curly side (like mine), definitely the chi.

    I hope this helped!

Is Chi flat iron/hair straightener safe to use every day?

I tried it, and it works a-mazingly-straightened my hair in less than 10 minutes! I was just wondering if it would damage my hair to use it every day...Thanks!!Is Chi flat iron/hair straightener safe to use every day?
make sure when you are using it you keep it moving and not lingering in one placeIs Chi flat iron/hair straightener safe to use every day?
the Chi is a reeeally good straightener. But noo straightener or other heat application is good for you to use on your hair every single day. I haven't all over straightened my hair with a flat iron, besides the sidebangs for almost 2 months now and my hair is so much healthier and shineir! There are so many cute styles you can do with your hair without straightening it every day. If you must straighten it every day, a safer way is to use either Sunsilk straightening cream or Garnier Fructis Brilliante Shine glossing spray. This makes the heat less on your hair and is much safer. Or you can blow dry it which still leaves it fairly straight. Hope I helped!!
any heat damages your hair . but you can buy spray that reduces the damage . you buy it at wal mart .it really works and most likely will make your hair shiny . its a great buy ! hope this works for you .
Yes, it will. Putting heat in your hair everyday is danger no matter what the source.
no heat is good for your hair (it is better to wash your hair in cold water rather than hot) but i have had a chi for a while and it never feels fried or dried out but if there are days when you can avoid straightening it is better

    ughh yes, it does.

it may not seem like it at ffirst but over a period of time youll notice that your hair will start to break.

any straighter will do this though.
i dont think it would. just make sure the temperature isn't to high, cause then it could start doing some damage

Anyone know much about the Instyler Rotating Hot Iron Hair Straightener!?

My mother is really intent on having this Instyler Rotating Hot Iron Hair Straightener that she sees on TV?! It is over 100 bucks. Anyone have one, know someone who has it. Is it worth it, anything similar to it that cost less?!?!Anyone know much about the Instyler Rotating Hot Iron Hair Straightener!?
It isn't that great. It is loud, it pulls your hair out with the bristles, and it doesn't even really do anything with the hair. And have you ever blow dried your hair and brushed it too and the bristles got really soft, the instyler does this as well. And then you have to wait until the bristles cool down before finishing the hair or it won't work right. Waste of 20 dollars to try it, I sent that crap back and continued using regular flat irons. I got better hair results with the Remmington Wet 2 Dry than I did with the Instyler.Anyone know much about the Instyler Rotating Hot Iron Hair Straightener!?
omg dont get it! its super loud! it makes horrible noises when it rotates! get the chi!

The effects of using a flat iron (hair straightener) everyday..?

I started straightening my hair a while ago, and i found after about 2 weeks of continuous straightening I started to get burnt split ends, so I stopped. But now Im thinking of getting my hair styled so I would have to straighten it EVERYDAY.. what would be the effects on my hair because of this? btw, I have curly hair. The effects of using a flat iron (hair straightener) everyday..?
i straighten my hair everyday too. i got lots of split ends too but just when i didnt take good care of my hair

u have to buy salon products in order to keep your hair healthy if you straighten ur hair everyday

and then u need a deep conditioning per weel

then, it would not make any damage to your hair.

i reccomend redken deep fuel for deep conditioning. It works wonders.

Just make sure you condition your hair after using it as this is a more potent protein products. It makes your hair dry after using it but it really strenghten your, so make sure u conditon ur hair afterwards and it works wonders.

    and yeh

use a heat protector before straightening.

it can decrease the damagesThe effects of using a flat iron (hair straightener) everyday..?
with a strightner you would burn you hair and make it damaged, but if you get a more expensive ceramic straightner you will never burn your hair (because of the ceramic).
It is safe to straighten your hair every day, however it must be done correctly. First off your straightener itself has to be good quality. I would never put metal on my hair, make sure your iron has ';ceramic'; plates. Also, it must have a temperature guage. I know that it may feel like it works faster when its up at the highest temperature, however its more damaging than anything.

Also, your hair should be completly dry before ironing and sprayed with some kind of heat protecter. I use Matrix ';Sleek looks iron spray';.

The best thing to do is to set up an appointment at your local salon to get a trim and have her get rid of your burnt ends. Then ask her to flat iron your hair and ask her lots of questions how to do it correctly and what she reccomends!
    there are product out there

you can find them at drug stores wherever it is you go to

and they have products that you use while straightning your hair to decrease the damage to it
your hair would fry(it would get really dry and you would get burnt split ends) so you should consider getting a japanese straitening. or dont get your hair styled so you would have to straiten your hair every day.
    More fried hair and breakage.
I'm a qualified hairdresser and i don't think you should use your flat iron. it is really bad for your hair. it makes it dryer and causes loads of frazzled end! I suggest you buy some intensive conditioner and leave it on your hair for half hour and keep doing it once every 2 weeks buy heat protection spray from the supermarket and use ceramic straighteners. your hair will have much less damage and should eventually become back to normal. if your burnt ends are really bad i suggest a nice hair cut to get rid of damaged hair. :^)
your hair will continue getting mroe split ends and it will we very fragile. you should probably invest in a ceramic straightener becasue it does a lot less damage. i suggest the chi. also before you straighten your hair put on a protective spray.......i use one from avon called salon straight and it really helpss!! =]

What heat iron (hair straightener) is best for avoiding fried hair?

any ceramic plated straightener, just make sure to keep it on a setting that works with your hair (1-3 for thin hair, 4-6 for normal, 7+ for really thick)What heat iron (hair straightener) is best for avoiding fried hair?
a Chi iron - they are about $ 110 but they are great - they take 20 sec. to heat up and instead of frying your hair they give it moisture you can buy them at select walgreens and JC PennyWhat heat iron (hair straightener) is best for avoiding fried hair?
Ceramic is always the way to go...just make sure your hair is well conditioned and dry before using it. my hairdresser also told me to spray on mist of shine spray on the hair before using the flat iron. it helps to protect it and it also gives that shiny sleek look.
A conair straightener it works really good.
Ceramic with ion technology. THey don't heat up as much and are much faster than regular ones.

    Stay away from metal ones.
    maxibeauty.com
It doesn't matter which one you use, they all do the same thing, but just with a different name and a different price. Remember the iron doesn't work without a person using it. It only does what you tell it to do.
I agree, Ceramic is the way to go!

I tossed my metal irons long ago and replaced them with ceramic curlers and flat irons.

I have really long, really thick hair so I purchased a flat iron with a heat setting. They get warm fast are easy to use and are well worth the money. And... I can do my hair in half the time.

I bought mine at a salon, so I would call around your area and see what prices run.

is it worth the price?Does the InStyler Rotating Hot Iron Hair Straightener workgood?
The best straightener I have ever used is a CHI, I wouldn't waste money on any other brand!

In your opinion, what is the best flat iron/hair straightener you can buy?

I've heard that CHI is nice but I've never known anyone who has owned one.In your opinion, what is the best flat iron/hair straightener you can buy?
Check into Sedu (although I've not used it).

http://www.folica.com/appliances/straigh/a>In your opinion, what is the best flat iron/hair straightener you can buy?
    ceramic
CHI!!! I don't have one but my friend says she can't live without hers.
I have naturally curly hair and I have the Chi to straighten my hair when I want a change. I never was able to straighten my hair very good before the CHI, but now it gets so straight. I spent $100 on it, but well worth it. I have to dry it sorta straight with the dryer, adding a little straightening balm. The I divide my hair into sections and run the CHI over it, sometimes more than one swipe. The CHI is ceramic, and it really makes my hair shiny and soft when I use it, not fried and brittle. I feel the money was well spent.
ya go with chi, just got mine and i love it! if chis broke easily than no salons would buy them. where i live every good hair salon has the chi. The chi is my third hair straightener and by far the best. my first was a revlon i think, and that just sucked, died in 3 months. my second was some 40 dollar straightener from sally beauty supply which still works but takes longer to straighten. My chi though, I can add curl if i want because the ends are curved around unlike other straighteners. its just great.
    definetly CHI.

first of all its ceramic which is very good for your hair

and i love it it works wonders! pin strait hair =]
HOT TOOLS!(the brand) they work great
None use jumbo sized rollers a lot kinder to your hair
    THE HAI!!!!!!!!!!

    it's the best.
My friend has one by Conair I think is like black and ceramic (they sell it at any Walgreens). Well wow I was in shock on how good it works. I had my hair real wavy just the other day and well I grabbed her hair straightner and wow in less then 10 mins all of my hair was straight. With the Chi, it has taken me longer to straighten it plus they break really easy. Either way good luck.

What's the best and safest way to clean a flat iron (hair straightener)?

wipe it with damp cloth. What's the best and safest way to clean a flat iron (hair straightener)?
Use rubbing alochol and a cotton ballWhat's the best and safest way to clean a flat iron (hair straightener)?
This is how we do it in cosmetology school.

    Get a jar of relaxer.

    Get a bath cloth

Heat up iron and take cloth wipe relaxer on hot iron like you are washing it and the **** will fall right off. When all the **** is off turn unplug relaxer let cool of then rinse with Luke Warm to Warm Water. This process should not take more than 10min. /w an extremely dirty iron. Happy New Year
    when it is completely cool,

    unplug it

and use plain water and a soft cloth to clean dirty spots

    off.
theres special stuff u can buy (i think ) but its really expensive. if you can remove the plate wash them with soap and water........... if not wipe it with rubbing achahol and wipe with damp paper towel to get the stuff off it. if u dont have rubbing alchahol try Toner for ur face
make sure its not pluged in then take a damp cloth and clean it. when your done make sure to let it dry.
When the iron is cool I just use a damp rag and clean it. If there's some build up that won't come off with the rag I use my fingernail to scrape it off. Happy New Year.
If it has a buildup of hairspray, jel, or other hair products, try a butter knife and scrape it off, or maybe try nailpolish remover; the acetone might help break up the buildup.
when it's completely cool try to wipe it with a dry towel if that doesn't work use a damp towel and wipe only the silver or gold part and them immediately wipe it with a dry towel until it is dry again

How good is the GHD MK4 Gold Professional Iron Hair Straightener?

How well does it reduce frizz?

    How well does it straighten?

Does it make your hair soft and shiny?

    How is it overall?

HOW MUCH DID YOU PAY FOR IT? etc.

Please all answer these if you can:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?/a>How good is the GHD MK4 Gold Professional Iron Hair Straightener?
I don't own a GHD. I use a Chi but I do know from using one that the GHD is the best hands down. I don't know how much my friend paid for it. Probably well over a hundred bucks for it. It did leave my hair so silky smooth. It was so shiny and soft and it didn't frizz. However you still need a heat protection serum. I use the Chi straight guard. No matter how good the straightener is it still does some damage to the hair. But the GHD is less damaging then all the rest of them.

  • I dropped my flat iron/hair straightener in the toilet for a few seconds. Is it okay to still use?

After that, I quickly rinsed it off with soap and water and hand dried the outside. I've been letting it dry out in the open for a couple of days. When I plugged it in today, it sizzled a little so I quickly unplugged it. Is it ruined forever? Or should I just let it dry out more? I really don't want to have to buy another one because I don't have the money for it right now. How long should I let it dry out for?I dropped my flat iron/hair straightener in the toilet for a few seconds. Is it okay to still use?
    NO

youll get electricuted!! and its probably wrecked.. and why would you want to put toilet water on your hair??I dropped my flat iron/hair straightener in the toilet for a few seconds. Is it okay to still use?
to be safe get a new one
That's just nasty. Sorry. Throw it away.
Water drys give it a few more days. But to be safe get a new one so ya dont get zapped while your straighting your hair. LOL mental picture.
    no way sister!!!! THATS GROSS!
ew why would u want to use it again anyway? get a new one, even if its a temporary cheap one for about $20.
    nope...get a new one
um...i don't think youd still want to use it after it fell in the toilet...besides...you don't want any risk either. Get a new one.
Make sure it's dry and that is you don't use it for a few days to make sure . Then I think you shouldn't have a problem .If it was only in the water for a few seconds it should be OK .
Let it dry for about 48 hours and then see what happen's
    I wouldnt...could be waterlogged.
No, once it has been in water (even for a few seconds) it is virtually unsafe to continue to use. Buy a new one.

Use an ionic flat iron. It will not curl back easly.

Solia makes a Tourmaline Ceramic Ionic Flat Iron.

According to the Solia flat iron website, ';tourmaline,

Are those 2 in 1 curling iron/hair straighteners any good? Is it better to have a thick straightener or thin?

Does it make a difference if the plates are gold or silver colored? Are those 2 in 1 curling iron/hair straighteners any good? Is it better to have a thick straightener or thin?
Okay it doesn't matter what color the plates are as long as they are ceramic. Its alot safer and less damaging to the hair. 2nd the 2 in 1 straight/curl irons are OK nothing great nothing crappy they are ok. I would use one on my own hair and maybe to a few selected hair styles on clients but i wouldn't use it as my primary flat iron. Now I have alot of hair with a pretty good WAVE to it not exactually a curl but def. gets crazy with no blow drying!! so i found that a BIG plated iron worked the best, the small ones just seemed to be too time consuming when i don't really need to make my hair too straight cause i do a pretty good job blow drying it. But if you have really thick curly hair i would suggest the small plates just because you have more control over where you need it the most. Like in the root areas. Also you should always use a SHINE SERUM before and a little bit after you flat iron to protect and make a shinier finish. Some suggestions are Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum, Matrix Sleek Look Flat Iron Spray or Smoothing Serum (same line) or Biosilk Serum or Catwalk's Camera Ready. Those I found to take out all the frizz, add tons of shine and made my hair really soft let alone it was protecting it from the heat damage that causes split ends, breakage and dryness. Keep in mind when using the shine serums only use 1-2 pumps depending on how thick hair is and if it is a shine spray like the Iron Spray or Camera Ready 2-4 sprays should be okay . .and one more think you never need to put them on the root other wise you look greasy! hope all this info helped! Are those 2 in 1 curling iron/hair straighteners any good? Is it better to have a thick straightener or thin?
I think it depends on your hair. If you have thick hair, then i would recommend thick hair straightner. But if you have thin hair, thin hair straightner would be good :)
The best straightner I have found is the ';Tru Ceramic Pro';. Ceramic straightners are the best. You can buy this straightner on the internet, it works awesome and it will also do barrel curls if you like that.
all depends on your hair, if its think and curly i recommend a thin straightener, because it consentrates on smaller parts of the hair, and smoothes it out. takes a while, but looks awesome. if you have thin straight hair like me, use a thicker iron. it makes the process quicker and gets the job done. the 2 in 1 curling iron ive never tried. but heard okay things about it. i would just go with a straightner first. and buy a curling iron too. :) and get a good straight iron like helen of troy brand. or anything over 40 dollars! :)
In my opinion, the straightner/curler is a hasstle. Whenever I go to use the curler, the flat sections on the straigntner tend to get out of line and make a crease in my hair..I'd get a separete curler and straigtener. Also, there is a new, hair dryer/sraigtener/de-frizzer out now. Its called Conair Infiniti Hair designer. I have one and I LOVE it! Very easy to use and really works! I have very thick curly hair and now my daily hair routine time is cut in half by using this dryer. Its alittle pricey but you can get it from avon (youravon.com/remard) for only 59.99. (Reg. 65$) Alot of beauty magazine are recommending it as well.
depend on the hair I have thick hair and use the thin straightner I think that's the best, because if it's thin it catch all the hair
I've never tried the 2 in 1 curling iron/straightener. If it's cheap, it's probably not that great, but you never know til you try it. You want to go with quality if you straighten your hair everyday. Otherwise you may not get the results you want.

I use a ceramic one and I LOVE it! Mine cost around $50 so it's pricy, but they last awhile. It's black too. I've seen white ceramic ones too. I've tried gold and they're ok. It really depends on your hair type. If you have thin/fine hair a thin straightener would work because you don't want to fry your hair with too much heat. If your hair is thick, you may want to go with a one incher to save time. I've seen jade straighteners and I hear they're the best, but they're very pricy! I've seen one that cost around $125.

They use different types of materials because of what it can do with the hair. Just make sure to buy some heat protective spray to use with the straightener. Sometimes they can add better straightness with the product.

No flat iron is worth that much money. It's just gonna break in a year anyway. Try a sally beauty supply brand

Which flat iron hair straightener lasts longest?

Sedu, Solia, and CHI are the best hair straighteners out there. There costly and I want to know which one will last at least 2 years without breaking?Which flat iron hair straightener lasts longest?
Sedu, I've had mine for 2 or 3 years, and it hasn't broken. I don't like CHIs because they feel really crappy in your hands, are very thin and just feel like they'll break easily. I know people who have owned a CHI and it has broken. I've dropped my Sedu many times and use it almost every day. It's definitely the best straightener I've ever had.Which flat iron hair straightener lasts longest?
GHD actually, it is better than those three and lasts longer. CHI lasts the least amount of time out of the three. The wiring is bad and they usually need to be replaced every year if not sooner. But that also depends on the electrical wiring of your home, the wiring in the straightener is horrible and it shorts out easily. I am so sick of CHI's, they just do not last! Sedu's are supposed to be pretty sturdy, but I have never personally used one. Oh, and just to let you know there is a whole list of straightness that are better than those three, but they cost an arm and a leg!
I have been doing a lot of research lately on buying these 3. and i've came to the conclusion of buying a solia.

i've heard that chi's break really easily and are not worth it.

i've heard that sedu's are good, but they cost more than a solia.

and a solia are cheaper but still get great reviews as the sedu.

a solia has a two year warranty also.

but i'm sure which ever one between the sedu and the solia are great :)
Personally, I prefer my True Ceramic Pro.

I've had it for years, and it has seriously saved my life! Not to sound like a cheap infomercial though. lol

    http://www.trueceramicpro.com/

If you look at the before and after results, it really DOES work that well.

    http://www.trueceramicpro.com/steps.htm

I've had it for years, and not only does it straighten my hair, but it has actually changed the texture of my hair over the past few years. It's naturally softer, and thinner (I had extremely thick and frizzy hair).

Well, that's my input. It's a little pricey, but it is 100% worth it. Good luck. :)
believe it or not, i've had the best luck with a brand called ';andis'; that i bought at--yes really-- walmart. it's lasted a long time and it works great. i had a much more expensive one i bought at sally beauty supply that quit after less than a year. bonus: the andis cost twenty dollars.

Chi... I've had mine for years and it still gets hot enough to melt lava!

Voltage and frequency are the same all around Europe (220/240 V 50 Hz); plugs may be different according to the Country, so you may need a plug adapter. What kind of flat iron/hair straightener that doesnt damage your hair?

I dont really have a budget go anything as long as its good, last long and wont damage your hair.

i heard that CHI is good but i also heard that it breaks down really fast.

thankxWhat kind of flat iron/hair straightener that doesnt damage your hair?
    kstyler.com.

you wont regret it.What kind of flat iron/hair straightener that doesnt damage your hair?
Don't get ceramic. They damage your hair. Tourmaline are actually GOOD for you hair, they defrizz and smooth, and somehow, they hydrate. But please, please, do not buy a flat iron from a a drugstore/supermarket, even if they say tourmaline, they're probably lying. Tourmaline is a gem. Most drugstore/supermarket flat irons aren't even real ceramic either. They're painted, and after a few uses, the paint peels off. Get your flat iron from your hair dresser, at a salon, or a beauty supply store. CONAIR is a very bad choice for flat irons. They pull your hair. :/ And it hurts!

And yes, always use a heat protective spray before straightening your hair!
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

    In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

=== Flat Iron Hair Straighteners FAQ ======

Q: What size should I choose?

A: For most people, 1';, 1-1/4'; or 1.5'; are all good choices. If you have very thick, coarse, long or ethic hair, bigger size (1.5'; or 2';) will save you some time. If you have thin, fine hair, get a smaller one (1'; or 3/4';).

Q: What temperature should I should on my hair?

A: Based on my expereince, 380F is the average temperature to use. If you hair is thick and coarse, bump it up a bit, if you hair is fine or overprocessed, start it at somewhere 300F, and try it. If the setting does not work well for you, increase a bit until you get a setting that works well for you but does not burn your hair. Trial and error.

All straightners damage hair. Get a Heat Protector, It'll help save your hair from most damage.
Whatever you do dont use conair. Your hair will turn orange if you use it. Big hot and orange. If you know what I'm saying.
all straightener damages hair....ALL of them
DO NOT GET CONAIR INSTANT HEAT.

It fries your hair, and makes fires.

Well, you're never gonna find a flat iron that won't damage your hair, however I have a 1'; RUSK ceramic flat iron. It's the best iron I've ever had. Way better than my sister's CHI. She got her's for Christmas. Her hair is longer than mine, but only because I cut mine. My sister's hair isn't as healthy as it used to be, but I don't think it's all the CHI's fault. I personally just don't like it.

I got my RUSK for my birthday a year ago and it's still in perfect condition. The only thing I would tell you is.

    1) Make sure your flat iron is clean before you use it. When you flat iron, you squeeze the hair between the plates, so hair serum/product leave gunky residue on you flat iron. This makes you hair harder to straighten if you don't clean it, and it will make your hair stink like burnt fries. Clean it with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip, or buy cleaning solution from folica.com

    2) Use a heat protectant and blow dry your hair before you flat iron. I know it's a lot of heat, but if you let it 90% air dry, then blow dry it, you can use the flat iron on the lowest heat setting and get it smooth. This is called silkening. I learned if from my hair dresser. I blow dry with Proclaim setting lotion, and it gets my hair crazy straight. Some people think I'm mixed because my roots are so straight and I haven't had a perm in months. You should make your blow dryer do all the ';straightening'; work. A flat iron just gets your hair silky, so try to use if for that. CreoleInDC has a great silkening tutorial on Youtube. She uses a curling iron, but you can still use a flat iron. her blog at monicamingo.com is good to. I don't know if you have black hair or not, but I use my methods on my white friends and they love my tecnique.

    3) Make sure you hair section is as big as your flat iron. If you have a lot of hair, just buy a bigger flat iron. It is a pain to use the 1';. I have a thin layered, medium length bob, so I use the 1'; and straightening takes 15 min. Always make sure the piece of hair you straigthen matches the length of the iron. If you have a 1'; iron, grab a section of hair that is long enough to fit on the plates, and thin enough to get straight. The same goes for a 2';. The 2'; rusk is also good. My mother and sister have that. I use those in a pinch if I only have 6 min for my hair.

    4) 1'; irons are more versatile. My 1'; iron doubles a my curling iron and straighter. I use it on 130 degrees after blow drying and it gets my curly roots super silky.

    5) ALWAYS use a heat protectant. Anything that has alcohol denat or the kind that smells like rubbing alcohol will dry out your hair, then the heat will more. Read the ingrediants on the hair products like the nutrition facts on food. If it's got bad ingredients in the first 5 parts of the ingredients list DO NOT BUY IT. If the flat iron heat doesn't damage your hair, the product will make it. Try John Frieda frizz ease serum in the gold bottle. I think it's called thermal something. I don't remember.

That's all I know. Have fun straightening.

What flat iron/ hair straightener should I get?

I have the Conair Infiniti Silver Nano right now. It started to smell like it was burning my hair and get rusty after every time I used it near the plate. I got it 1 year and half ago. I have really thick, wavy hair. My price range will be around $90, give or take a little. Thanks so much! What flat iron/ hair straightener should I get?
I really like the Conair Wet and Dry, I have thick hair and it works great for me. But, this is the only striaghten I've ever owned, so I can't really tell you how ti compares to other straighteners. I have heard lots of good things about Chi, but unless you can find one on sale, I don't think it will be in your price range. My firend is really liking the Instyler..... maybe you could try that. What flat iron/ hair straightener should I get?
Try Farouk CHI 1 Inch Ceramic Flat Hairstyling Iron. It is good. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009V1/a>
    either a CHI(100.00) or a wet/dry straightener(30.00)
you should get the herstyler. It is brilliant! It lasts for a long time! i just got one for xmas but my friends had hers for 2 years. There is also a 1 year warrenty on it. The Herstyler is Just like the chi but this one has full ceramic plates not ceramic coated like the chi. you can get them at the mall for around 130 but i got mine brand new off of ebay for $50 bucks! there is a big variety of stylers. they have slim ones, big ones, colorful ones, and wet to straight ones, they also have a controlable temperature setting., you can visit the website: http://www.herstyler.com good luck!!! and check ebay: http://health-beauty.shop.ebay.com/Strai/a> andd http://cgi.ebay.com/HerStyler-FOREVER-ce/a> this is the one i have: http://cgi.ebay.com/Herstyler-Colorful-S/a>
I know from several friends that Chi makes great hair straighteners, and I know they cost around $90, give or take. I personally have an Andis Ceramic hair straightener (it was $16 at Walmart) and I'm really satisfied with it. It has good heat settings and heats up quickly and gets the job done if you're in a rush. Good luck!
Go to TJ Maxx! They have CHI products under $20 %26amp; They have nice flat irons. I recently got a La Angelique for $29.99 -- reg. price is 279.00 ; GREATTTTT ! :D
do not ever get CONAIR, get the instyler
Although Chi's are expensive the ceramic plates don't ruin your hair as much as other hair straighteners and glide against your hair to make a relaxed look instead of frizz caused by cheap hair straighteners. Because of the size you can also get small hairs by your ears.
get the instyler it really works i have it

What's the best flat iron/hair straightener out there?

So I've got a flat iron that's old as dirt, and it's starting to die out on me. I need a new one.

Has anyone heard about a straightener that is really good, or do you have a flat iron that you swear by?

I'd really appreciate it if you added a link to a site where I could order it!

Thankss! What's the best flat iron/hair straightener out there?
www.folica.com has a lot of good ones. I have a Sedu that I love. Everyone seems to think Chi is great too, but they are expensive. What's the best flat iron/hair straightener out there?
    SOLIA!!!

No one has ever really heard of them, and i don't know why, because i have one and it works EXTREMELY well! it works just as well as a CHI but it's cheaper, plus chi's break so easily. like everyone i know that's had a chi has had it break soonish. which sucks! cuz they paid so much for it! but anyway, yeah get a solia. i got mine from folica.com and it works so well, i couldn't have asked for a better one.

    but whatver you do...

do not get one from target or walmart! i destroyed my hair with those. like seriously i only have about half the hair i used to have. and my hair was not thick to begin with. D:

    solia solia solia :D
I personally have a FHI and LOVE it. A CHI is also really good, so either of those will work wonders for you!! You can get them at a local salon or even Target carries CHI, its about 150.00 to 200.00 but totally worth the money!

    http://www.target.com/CHI-Adjustable-Tur/a>
I have a Babyliss Pro and I love it(although I noticed this morning that there's a tag on the cord that says ';not for home use';, my hairdresser aunt got it for me with her discount). It has different temperature settings so it's great for my thin hair or my roommates really thick hair.
    CHI.

That'll probably be the most popular answer, because it's true. It's about $100 and it's sold at alot of beauty salons and pretty much all over..
the sedu is the absolute best don't have one but i have seen the top 10 list its #1. you can get it at folica.com.
    I heard Revlon's was good.

What flat iron/ hair straightener would you recommend?

I have very thick, long, wavy, frizy hair. I would like to know what straightener you would recommend. I have the Instant Heat Ceramic-coated 2'; Double Ionic Straightener from Conair, but it still leaves my hair kind of frizzy. What flat iron/ hair straightener would you recommend?
Buy a serum, probably that will workWhat flat iron/ hair straightener would you recommend?
buy the new tigi bed head flait iron is very good but it allot of money like 70 dollar
i use Sunatchi straightening iron. it's a professional Japanese brand and works wonders!

it's pretty expensive but worth it.. i got it from a salon, so that's why.

overall, i would recomend getting a ceramic hair straightener where you can adjust the temperature, and DO NOT get conair.. its a piece of crap when it comes to hair irons
you need to get a conair they are cheap and non frizzy, only if you use the right shampoo .

  • Do you own and or used an InStyler Rotating Iron Hair Straightener?

If you could let me know how it works, that would be great.

Also, please give me a rating on it from one to ten.

One being the worst, ten being the best.

And please tell me why you rated this product this way.

i would give it a 3 :S mabey lessDo you own and or used an InStyler Rotating Iron Hair Straightener?
do not buy it! you cant use it with wet hair like it said, it fries it. it doesnt make ur hair shiny. i think it is meant for frizzy, dry curly hair, or african american hair.
my friend has one and it sucks

What is the best flat iron/hair straightener for black people's hair?

Plz tell me the brand, where i can get it,how much, etc. What is the best flat iron/hair straightener for black people's hair?
solia is a great ceramic iron..check out folica.com..they have reviews.. all different kinds of woman have it and love it.. :o)What is the best flat iron/hair straightener for black people's hair?
Firstly, I'm African American and I DO NOT recommend Gold N Hot heat protects whatsoever. Though they are extremely cheap and abundant, they damage your hair because you have limited control over the heat going into your hair. So stray away from those cheap straighteners.

The straightener I use is a Chi, and it's very good because you have pretty much all control over the heat going into your hair. It goes from about 70 degrees to 360, and you can control how much you'd want to fry your hair. :] Though it isn't cheap, it goes for around $70+ for the heat products, it's one of the best you can get. Along with T3 (Never tried it but I heard the reviews of it. It's world renown.) Don't know the price, but you should check it out. :)
Don't get confused and do purchase either CHI straightener or GHD straightener.

Both are the best brand at this days.

CHI price starting from $79.99 and with free shipping service here:

I think the above info will help you to purchase perfect hair straightener.

    Thanks
A good flat iron that you can actually find, would be the ION at Sally's. I am African-American and I have relaxed hair that's coarse. This iron gets my hair very straight like I walked out of the salon. The ION is ceramic and very similar to the CHI with controllable heat. It will run you about $65-70 and it's very good, i love it.
Try the flatirons by jilbere de Paris they work well on mine

    heres the link http://www.sallybeauty.com/titanium-flat/a>

Also make sure you use a heat protection spay even if you decide on the chi kind (they are very expensive) The spray smells really good and it protects your hair from heat damage no matter now many times you flat iron your hair

    http://www.sallybeauty.com/Heat-Protecti/a>

Gold n' Hot is cheap and bad dont get those kind they a quick fix
Gold N Hot, you can get it at any beauty supply store. i think they run about $10-15 dollars. it depends where you're from

What is the best wet to dry CHI flat iron/hair straightener?

I have about 20 minutes to do my hair in the morning after i get out of the shower. Ive heard great things about CHI hair straighteners so my heart is prty much set on getting one. Please help me decide what the best one is for me!What is the best wet to dry CHI flat iron/hair straightener?
I think there's only one wet to dry straightener from CHI

    http://www.beautychoice.com/products/CHI/a>

and it's probably the best one for you if you only have 20 minutes. But don't immediately straighten, towel dry your hair and let it dry a little when you get dressed then go for it!

    =]

PS- CHI's don't always break after a year I've had mine for 6 or 7 years and it works as newWhat is the best wet to dry CHI flat iron/hair straightener?
have you checked out the IN STYLER flat iron etc ... on paid programming.? i just ordered it. it has wet to dry also. it has clips you can watch on it if you go to the web site. also you can order it if you go onto ebay maybe i might have seen it on amazon also. otherwise it cost me around 190 with a extra chip , 2 irons, fast delivery and a 3 year warranty. but on ebay it was like 70 for 1 and with the extra chip which had the memory in it i believe that is what it was. but seriously check it out. i was just going to ask anyone on here if they had personally used it so watch mine to see if their are any responses. as i am real anxious. :) Merry Christmas............
I have a Remington Wet2Straight that I got at Target for $25. It is AMAZING. I have told everyone I know about it and got one for my niece for Christmas. I can't believe how great it is for the price. I have VERY thick, naturally curly hair. I would never go back to paying over $100 for a hair straightener again.
The CHI is really great. My hair is really curly and kinky and it works great for me. I have to run it through my hair a few times but it gets it stick straight.
chi's are great, but usually break after like a year, idk i would go for a paul mitchel one or something go on a site that does reviews and stuff

What is the best flat iron/hair straightener out there?

I want one that will keep my hair pin straight or at least straight all day. And wont cause my hair to get dry and frizzy when its in humidity. Also, whats a good hair product to keep my hair straight throughout the day? (:What is the best flat iron/hair straightener out there?
I have a CHI flat iron that I LOVE!! I straighten my hair everyday and have had zero problems in the 2 1/2 years I've had it. CHI's are a little bit more expensive, and can run you anywhere from $90-$150, but it is well worth it. Naturally I have slightly wavy hair and it keeps my hair super straight for the whole day. As for a good hair product? I love Tresemme's Hair Straightening Gel. I put it in my hair after I get out of the shower and I think it makes my hair less frizzy, plus it makes my hair SUPER soft. Like silky smooth. I hope this helps, and remember, a CHI is the only way to go!What is the best flat iron/hair straightener out there?
The CHI is very good, but it doesn't hold up to the quality and performance of a Sedu flat iron. CHI's tend to break frequently and they don't have the tourmaline that a Sedu has. If you want pin straight hair that will last, trust me, a Sedu is the way to go.

A really great product is Kiehl's Straightening Cream (which also protects from heat). Just using it will straighten your hair before you even take a flat iron to it. If you look up reviews, the stuff I've recommended tops the charts.
I love the UltraChi Shimmer. It's the advanced version of the original Chi. It leaves your hair pin straight, until you wash it. It also leaves your hair very silky. To avoid frizz, use Garnier's cream that reduces it. For an extra straight look, use a straightening shampoo and conditioner. Also use a straightening cream when your hair is damp. Follow up with your flat iron :) Make sure to use heat protection so that you don't fry your hair.
the chi is amazing its the best ever

it leaves your hair silky shinny and healthy looking

What kind of flat iron/ hair straightener works the best?

I am willing to spend any amount of money. i have heard that the chi breaks a fries hair. i have also heard that the solia phi and sedu work great. are there any better ones? i am looking to spend and amount of money.

thank you !What kind of flat iron/ hair straightener works the best?
GHD is great hair straightener it works better than chi it only takes me 10 minutes to do all my hair my hair is very long so it leaves my hair very sleek shiny highly recommend. What kind of flat iron/ hair straightener works the best?
I have the CHI Turbo 2 inch and it's the only one that has been able to ever touch my stubborn waves.

I got it for $65 at a specialty beauty supply where you need some sort of degree in hairstyling or something, I don't really know.

But my mom's hairstylist gave her her special membership cards so we got a discount :)

They sell CHI's in Target for $100 buckaroos, so go get one there! :)
I think the Global Beauty Networking Inc. works the best. You can get it for a hundred dollars and maybe even less. It depends. If you have trouble straightening your hair because of your split ends you could use sleek look smoothing system. It works AMAZING!!!!
the chi is good, just always no mater wat use hair protecter, the fhi is also good
I have never seen a CHI damage anyone's hair...ever. I have used mine for 5 years (I think I spent about $170.00 on it) and it still works like new.
the k-styler is $114.00. its supposed to be really good. look it up on google. =]

What is the best Conair hair straightener?

I'm going to buy a new one today but Conair has so many different ones so I want some opinions. I've had their regular ceramic straightener but there is ';infiniti'; ones and such.

What do you think? What is the best Conair hair straightener?
I have the Infiniti one. I like it. I had another one that I thought was crap, but I think that was a Revlon one. What is the best Conair hair straightener?
Well I suggest not getting a Conair straightener. Those aren't nearly as good as Ceramic Silk by Jheri Redding.

That flat iron set contains multiple containers of thermal protection, a holder for your straightener, a straightener which goes up to 400 degrees, and a brush.
I have one with tourlamine in the plates. It does REALLY good with my hair, which is a mess. I got it on Ebay for like $20 and it does better than the one my sister got me for $100.
    infinity

Whats the Conair hair straightener number to temperature ratio?

i have a conair straightener and it has the numbers 5-25 instead of temperature to choose how hot your straightener gets. i usually use 20-25. does anyone know the temperature for this?Whats the Conair hair straightener number to temperature ratio?

  • Testarossa by par conair hair straightener?

    hi!

i just bought this straightener, and it works great.

this is the first time i've ever used a straightener.

on my straightener, there's a on and off switch button.

so does that mean that i don't have to unplug it after i'm done with the straightener?

or do i have to unplug it?

thx very much!Testarossa by par conair hair straightener?
you don't have to, but you definitely should because if it gets wet while its plugged in (even if it's off) you will get a lovely fireworks show when you turn in on. it also still takes in electricity, so you will be wasting electricity.

so my answer is no, don't do it:) lolTestarossa by par conair hair straightener?
you dont have to...its off!!!!! but why wouldn't you unplug it?

Who here has ever had best resolts from conair- hair straightener?

i use a conair straightener and it works fine.

if your hair is really thick, it won't work.Who here has ever had best resolts from conair- hair straightener?
I personally hate my Conair straightener. It took forever to straighten and left my hair looking like straw, but I have really thick curly hair so it may work on other hair types. I personally recommend the Chi.
Conair is a horrible brand for hair straighteners.

You should get a GVP. It's around $70 from Sally's and it's as good as a Chi.
    CONAIR IS THE WORSSSTTT!

chi is expensive but well worth it.

    conairs do nothing.
I like my conair flat iron.ONLY BECAUSE I HAVE TO STRAIGHTEN MY HAIR FIRST WITH ANOTHER IRON!!!!!!!. Does nothing.

I have a ConAir one and it works fine. I don't think there's any way to fix it.I have a conair hair straightener but my hair isnt getting straightned?
Use your conditioner, and leave it on a long time. Dry your hair with your blow dryer, and brush it out as you dry it.

When you use the hair straightener, pull it through very slowly to give it a chance to work.

Is it safe to use my conair hair straightener on wet/damp hair?

i have this heat activeated gel and it works better with wet ahir and i use a straightener but is it ok to use on wet hairIs it safe to use my conair hair straightener on wet/damp hair?
it would likely be best to towel-dry your hair until it is almost dry before using the ironsIs it safe to use my conair hair straightener on wet/damp hair?
Your hair is going to dry out insanely

Heat itself damages hair after continuous use, but when you use direct heat (such as a straightner or curling iron) over when hair it is going to burn and damage the folicles.

I wouldn't suggest using your flat iron over when hair unless it was meant for that since they make wet to dry irons but even then I would be wary of it
Um well i think it is easier to use and works better when your hair is dry not wet. But whatever works for you should work i dont think it really matters if your hair is dry or wet but it will work better on dry hair =).
If it doesn't say it's MADE for wet hair then dry it before you straighten! Straightening damp hair is horrible for the strands and you can burn it to a crisp! You'll regret it later on. Just, dry it first.
Bad idea. It'll fry your hair. You can get a straightener ment for wet hair though. I know that Remington makes one called Wet 2 Straight. Otherwise wait till it is completely dry.
not usually, if you straighten your hair when its wet, it drys it out too much and makes your hair very frizzy and gives you horrible split ends so i would recommend not having wet hair
yeah you can but your hair will fry and get really frizzy...it may fall off too that happened to my friend...i definitely wouldnt suggest it...but my other friend found a straitner that works on wet hair...
even if a straightener says something like ';wet to straight'; only use it on dry hair because it will damage your hair if you use it on wet hair
I wouldn't recommend wet hair it can burn your hair however on damp hair it takes longer to dry...
No it should be completely dry. You hair will get more damaged if you do it wet. I would make sure its 100% dry.
Yes, but that brand isn't the best for it. The Remington Wet to Straight one works best.
    be

    very very carefull!
yes it is safe to use a straitener on wet hair

it just takes longer to straiten it
I wouldnt think so. Your pretty much frying your hair even more. I wouldnt do it.
dont do it! my friend used one and she had to cut her hair because it had been fried so badly. so i recommend making sure your hair is 100% dry before straightning
Be careful, my girlfriend got burn't hair on the while.
id suggest not to do that cuz it burns your hair twice as much..just wait for your hair to dry off..
it frys ur air even more than it already does! i wouldnt do that if i were u!
uhh.. it can be very damaging to your hair. use a blowdrier.
ummm no you should wait until your hair is dry to straighten it

Most likley heat and weight.the more expensive one may get hotter and be lighter and the oppisite for the cheaper oneWhat is the difference between $23.00 Ceramic Conair hair straightener and $35.00 Ceramic Conair Hair straight
i really don't think there is much difference.. i have a conair straightener that i got from walmart.. its white and the plates are red, and i didnt spend that much on it (probably about 25 or so) and it works really good. actually better then an older one i spent 95 dollars on.
the more expensive they are the better they are. FACT! go for the more expensive one, its not more expensive anyway and it can probably get to a higher heat and will straighten faster and last longer. I just brought new ones that straighten in a stroke and there brilliant! My last ones lasted 5 years of high heat everyday use. My new ones are remmingtons and cost me about æ‹¢60 GBP i think thats about $120? Make sure you read up on the features
    go with the cheaper one.

i bought a remington wet to straight for 35, and a chi for 120. the remington does ten times less damage, and my hair looks better.
12.00 plus tax no difference between the two for that little amount of savings
Well one can have more features and the other one may not have so many features it all depends! good luck i hope I helped! =]

look for the warranty on the box.. i doubt that conair has one, but you should look for it anyways. conair sucks, you should buy a straightener with more quality next time.HELP my Conair hair straightener wont heat up?
I have had the same conair straitner for almost 3years now. I use it at least 5times a week, and it still works great! If yours isnt working- then maybe you should just go buy a new straightener.
thats exactly what my conair straightener did. so i switched to a newer more expensive one:( but it works great. and i dont regret buying it. so go try a different brand or something.

  • Does the INFINITY conair hair straightener really work?

Yes! I love that blow dryer! No other straightener worked on my hair and this thing does. It doesn't damage your hair as much as the other do it controls frizz and makes it soft and smooth. It works like a hair dryer! I highly recommend it!Does the INFINITY conair hair straightener really work?
yes i love it so much my friend got it for me for x-mas its amazingDoes the INFINITY conair hair straightener really work?
i heard it is really good
Yes it does, but you have to make sure you're using the right temperature, and you put it small sections at a tie. You have to do this with every straightener, of course! Also, use protection spray!
The Conair Tourmaline is good too. I got it for christmas and I love it.

Are Conair hair straightener any good?

I have one, and it didn't work all that well when i had longer hair, but when i cut my hair- it's chest-length now- it worked really well. i would get a better one if you can, but if you don't want to spend the money, conair works just fine. Are Conair hair straightener any good?
in my experience, conair did not work so well for me. i had a conair straightener and the results were average...i just ordered a GHD hair straightener online and it's a little pricey but it got excellent reviews =]Are Conair hair straightener any good?
They are not the best i would pick badhead even though its alot of money it is good quality!!!
I have the remington wet to straight one. it works awesome! I had to conair ones and they werent that great.
No. Especially if you have Curly hair it makes your hair go very puffy. If you need to straighten a few, it may work.
Ceramic straighteners are much better I have one, and it may be expensive, but they work so well, I have curly hair but after using it I look like I have naturally straight hair!

WHICH ONE SHOULD I GET, ANDIS or CONAIR HAIR STRAIGHTENER?

i'm going to buy a new hair straightener. it has to be cheap, so i can't a chi or ghd.

ive heard that andis and conair's are pretty cheap at walmart so out of the 2, which one do you think is better for thick hair?? or if not these two, are they any other products that work good but are under $30??WHICH ONE SHOULD I GET, ANDIS or CONAIR HAIR STRAIGHTENER?
Out of the two brands you listed, Andis. I've read VERY good things about it. Conair isn't very good. :/

Other suggestions are Vidal Sassoon, Remington, %26amp; Revlon. I've used all three of those brands %26amp; they worked well for my hair (%26amp;I have thick, curly, kinda frizzy, hard to straighten hair).

Vidal Sassoon: I have the Answers one for coarse hair, but they have a nano one out too. [:

Remington: I own the one with Teflon, which is great for protecting, but its hard to yield sometimes, so I'd advise the brown %26amp; pink one (T-Studio Ceramic + Tourmaline + Titanium), Protect %26amp; Shine, or Shine Therapy. I wouldn't be a fan of a Wet2Straight, but I heard that one is REALLY good.

Revlon: I used the basic Perfect Heat Ceramic one. It advertise ceramic plates %26amp; a lot of heat settings. That worked really well, but they have even better ones, with tourmaline %26amp; such.

Hope I helped %26amp; good luck!WHICH ONE SHOULD I GET, ANDIS or CONAIR HAIR STRAIGHTENER?
I have a Helen of Troy Ceramic Flat Iron, which I ordered on eBay. I absolutely love it!!! I use it 2-3 times a week and I've had it for about six months. It heats very quickly and works great! You can get one for $19.99 on eBay and shipping is free! And it comes in a really pretty teal color and heats up to 430 degrees. See link below:

    Revlon or Conair hair straightener/iron?

I straighten my hair every year at a salon and now I have permed wavy hair. Sometimes I get bored and wish to straighten my hair myself. I do not want to spend over $50 on a straightener but a regular or rather cheap one as long as it straightens my hair.

I was looking at Revlon and Conair. Which one is better? Or is there any other economic brand?Revlon or Conair hair straightener/iron?
revlon works for a longer time but conair sometimes works better. overall revlon is the best. some people also mentioned the remington wet 2 straight. i heard its pretty good. also hot tools.Revlon or Conair hair straightener/iron?
    should get conair

    better quality
I would definently recommend a Revlon. I got a Revlon straightener for 20 bucks at Walmart and it worked really good! It lasted for about 3 years too!
Well, I recently got an Infinit by Conair straightener and curler. It is pretty good.

Make sure you buy ';ceramic'; straighteners/curleres (it should tell you on the box if it it ceramic). Because it dosen't damage your hair as much as the non- ceramic straighteners/curlers
revlon straightener, for sure. i used to have a conair straightener and a revlon curler and it didnt really work. but now i have a conair curler, and a revlon striaghtener, and both work amazingly. but revlons much better as a straightener than a curler for me. try and get the ceramic one.
i got a fantasic Conair ceramic straightener for $26

    http://www.ulta.com/control/product/~pro/a>

maybe check on some toher ones on this site . .i have an Ulta store around me . . check to see if ther is one by you . .they have some pretty amazing stuff.
i got a 10$ revlon one at the big lots i think. it works really well even though its not ceramic
well...to be perfectly honest, both brands suck...i know because i had both and neigher lasted longer then 3 months...so if you want a GOOD straighter, then get Hot Tools (professional) and its only about 35-40 dollars depending on which you choose and its lasted me 4 years so far and counting, so i would say invest in a good one instead of getting a cheap one because in the long run, the cheaper one would end up being the more expensive one since you will probably have to keep buying new ones, so you really do get what you pay for...My hair is really thick and curly, so maybe thats why the others didnt work, and maybe im just rough with my straighter, but i would get the more expensive one...and its even under $50....at least it was when i bought it for my sister last year....I hope that this helps....:)
chi is the best hair straightener ever, seriously i love it
nahhh! try andis clippers (size 000) and buzz it down to the scalp. bald-headed would be a nice look for you.
get revoln cermanic flat iron.....the cermanic kind doesnt damage the hair like the metal ones
i havnt tried revlon but i tried conair and its crap! i would suggest a proffesional one from www.folica.com
Revlon all the conairs i have used are horrible! And go with a ceramic one also.
both are great but I use Revlon and it works best to me.
I don't even think Revlon makes a hairstraightner. I went on there websight (below) and couldn't find one. But Conair sucks, don't buy one. If you are going to buy one get a ceramic one, they don't dry out your hair. Here is the websight:

    http://revlon.com/home.aspx
I would say Revlon is better. Sometimes you can find a hot tools straightener on sale, which would be a lot better because that is a great brand.
i love conair. it go well.
I own a ';Hot Tools'; ceramic hair straightener and it works well on my hair, and my hair is really long and thick and it definately wasn't over $50 bucks
    conair is the best
    Revlon.

    Does ConAir hair straightener work?

it does work, but it really damages your hair

    i used to own one,

after about 1 month after using it

i noticed that my hair was really damaged (frizzy, stiff)

it didnt use to be like that.

i suggest you buy the CHI flat iron, (i use that one)

    http://www.chiretail.com/tools/irons/fla/a>

    its expensive though maybe about 80 - 90$ %26gt;:(

but it really does not damage your hair -- i promise.

%26amp; it may not seem worth the money but it is.

with the CHI flat iron (straightner) you will starigten your hair

    in about 10-15 seconds tops.

%26amp; you can also curl your hair with it (looks really nice, i love it)

curling takes only about 20 - 30 seconds.

my hair is not damaged anymore, its smooth %26amp; skily

(i hate having to deal with damaged hair every morning ! )

hope that helps ! (:Does ConAir hair straightener work?
I know from experience that Con-Air hair straightener works. Before you use it, though you may want to do this to get the best results.

Wash, shampoo, and condition hair well.

    Let hair dry, until damp.

Use a blown-drier to straighten hair and dry hair with a round brush (comb is like a clinder and has the brush all-over) and grab 2-3 inches of hair depending how thick. Put the hair on the brush and roll the brush downwards as you put the nozzle of the blow-drier onto the hair

Use Con-Air after, w/ a round brush to lead and keep hair in place

Your hair should look like a models hair after, if not, then you probably did a mistake

Are Conair hair straighteners really that bad?

I hear some people say they are horrible. Which is better so, Conair or Revlon straighteners? Are Conair hair straighteners really that bad?
Revlon has a much better quality, but some conair straightners can be good as well. Just make sure they're ceramicAre Conair hair straighteners really that bad?
    None.
depends on which one you buy..if you spend only like 20 bucks yeah they not worth it . you have to spend at least 5o
Neither. Both are really bad straighteners for your hair. Go with a sedu, seriously.
Revlon Perfect Heat Professional Straightener was voted one of the best out there:

I have a Conair straightening iron and it does just fine though.

Good luck on straightening those locks!
yes they kinda of are but not really the reason i think they are is because Ive had at least 4 conair straighteners and they all like break because they are to fragile it really sucks cause you have to keep buying more and more
  • youtube makeup
  • Does anyone have this Conair hair straightener?

YES, I KNOW CONAIR ISNT A VERY GOOD BRAND. But does anyone own it? Does it work well???

http://www.target.com/Conair-Pro-Ceramic/a>Does anyone have this Conair hair straightener?
Wau o-o i heard it was really good, from some friends i know o-o; anyway, it seems to have really good ratings.. and doesn't ruin your hair as fast as a regular one o-o; I'd buy it also for it's awesome look @_@Does anyone have this Conair hair straightener?
    ?
i do and it works fine i like it i hav ereally curly hair and it works fine........
yeah it works well, ive it
    No
I used to have a conair straightener, it wasn't that one though. But it wasn't good at all. If you want a good straightener, get an expensive one from Sally's Beauty supply, like the Helen of Troy, that's what I have. It'll last you a long, long time and works real good. Better than wasting your money and then it'll break or you'll get sick of it and buy a new one again. I have this one: http://www.sallybeauty.com/Gold+Series+C/a>
I have a conair and it works good. Not as good as a chi, but good.
YES I have it and it works wonders with my hair :D
i hav a presser, cuerler, spiral curler, crincler and blow dryer. I LOV THEM ALL! HELL YEAH BUY ALL OF THERE PRODUCTS!
no, but I do have a Conair straightener that's from target, and it works very well for me. I already have really straight hair, so I just use it for the ends.
I dont have one, but i have used plenty of conair hair products and they will just burn my hair, no matter how expensive. I suggest you use that money to buy a better one. Such as a Revlon hair straightner. Those work better.

Conair might work well for a few weeks, but it will get worse with time. And sometimes, your hair won't remain straight too long, it depends on your level of curly hair.
guh. noo but i was gona buy iit 2...but wasnt sure if iit wil work i hav da same problem as u=S
i have it, it is ok
    no
no but i want it. i have one though already its conair just different
    yeahh i do

    it works good

i have relly kinky curly hair

and my hair gets soo straight with it

Does conair hair straighteners work??? What kind of hair straightner should i get?

well i have like to hair straighteners from conair and they never straighten my hair right my hair is like curly / wavy and like it never straightens my hair right! so im thinking of getting a new hair straightner but i dont know what kind of hair straightner to get and i herd of the chi kind but there 2 expensive i went to the place where they sell them and they cost like more than 100 dollars what should i do??Does conair hair straighteners work??? What kind of hair straightner should i get?
no don't get a conair straighter. Any straightener that can be purchased at a drugstore may seem good but they are really damaging for your hair. Its better to spend a little more on a good Straightner than buy a cheap damaging one. Also most drugstore Straightners have fake ceramic. Always try to look for a Straightner with tourmaline plates. They restore the moisture in your hair. Chi straightners are better but they dont have a temperature setting and break easily. The best straightner to get is a Sedu. It will straighten better than any drugstore straightner. It comes in 1 inch or 1 1/2 inch. Folica.com is a great website to search for great hair products and see many reviews and before and after pictures. Hope i helped =]Does conair hair straighteners work??? What kind of hair straightner should i get?
I have a hardcore straightener, and it is so good! I run it through a strand once and I am good to go. The best kind of straighteners are the kind that you only have to run through a section or strand once.
You can get the Chi for less from Amazon.com. I have the wet-to-straight straightener and it works great for me, especially if I use it while my hair is still wet. I don't think it costs more than $30.
u can get andis multi heat seramic hair straightener at walmart for like 15 bucks and it work great on my frizzy poofy really wavy hair!

Conair Hair Straightener / Flat Iron any good?

    Has anyone used the Conair

PROFESSIONAL PLATINUM CERAMIC FLAT IRON? The price is around $60 and it has solid ceramic plate.

Thank you!!!Conair Hair Straightener / Flat Iron any good?
    I have it its great!!

I only paid 45 though?!?Conair Hair Straightener / Flat Iron any good?
    It's crap.

Use Cricket or Sedu flat iron. Awesome products.
na I tried it all and wrecked my hair, just live with it!
I have researched various consumer reports online and the best reveiws are for the Sedu straightener. All others are a waste of time, apparently. Better to spend more and get what you want. Google it and you will find lots of great reviews and pictures.

Dose Conair hair Straightener hurt your hair?!?

yaa soo i have a Conair hair Straightener and people said it burns ur hair! well dose it?

Thanks^^Dose Conair hair Straightener hurt your hair?!?
i have it too, and yeah it kinda does burn your hair. but like all hair straighteners do so it doesn't really matter. if it has a turning thing on the side with numbers on it then just turn it down lower so it won't be as hot on your hair. it will take a little longer but your hair will be a little bit healthier.Dose Conair hair Straightener hurt your hair?!?
I know a lot of people who has gotten their hair burned by a Conair. I use a Chi, and it has never burned my hair and I have been using it for years. So has my mom, and some of my friends. And before using any straightener, use some heat protection spray to defend your hair from heat damage.
pretty much every straightener can fry your hair. its the heat that burns your hair, not the type of straightener. try not to use it every day. and use ';long term relationship'; shampoo and conditioner by Herbal Essence for your hair, it'll help it not get split ends as quickly.

    :)
all straighteners, blow dryers, curling irons will burn your hair. You'll notice the ends of your hair will stop cooperating (if that makes sense). I use this stuff from wal-mart, but you can probably get in anywhere, it's a heat tamer. You just spray it on your tips before bringing heat to it. I haven't had a hair cut in months and you can't tell. I wish I could remember the brand. It's in the isle with Hair Spray and gel. In a black bottle with some red, i think the handle is red. It's only like 3 bucks and works great!
I have a wet 2 straight and it doesn't burn my hair. It does hurt when i'm straightning the hair on my scalp, but that's it.
yes all straighteners will, in the long run damage your hair. look for hot tools labeled ';ceramic'; its not as damaging and will prevent frizz. make sure you limit hot tool use and use a heat protecting spray.
obviously. alll straightners do. but you wont do too much damage if you use it lower than the highest heat. the highest heat does hurt your hair more than the lower temperatures
Sweetie all straighteners are not good for your hair, some are better protected than others but you are practically burning it it straight...sorry.
i have three, and wel obviously it does. ALL straighteners do. all heat products damage hair, even brushes damage it.
    All straighteners do.
    All straighteners do.

But if you gunna burn your hair make it count.

    Get a Chi!
eventually you will get split ends and hurt your hair.. just try and not use when u dont need to.
one thing is certain. It DOES not help you spell.
