How do I pack my conair hair straightener in my suitcase?

So i'm going somewhere this summer and I want to take my hair straightener. How do i pack it in my suitcase? Do i just leave it with all my clothes, etc. or do i have to put it in a bag or something? Note: this is my first time on a plane.How do I pack my conair hair straightener in my suitcase?
