CHI hair straightener HELP!?

hey i just got the chi and soo happy but i have been watching videos and they all use this protective stuff that they spray on before

I used a chi since i was 13. When I first bought it I didn't think that it would damage my hair. I went in for a trim and my hair was so damaged, the lady ended up cutting more then 3 inches off. What happens is the heat creates split ends. Your hair becomes brittle and creates a lot of breakage.

well the answers is yes if you straighten it a lot then use it for sure or your hair will get damaged, if your straighten it almost never still use it so your hair has no choice and stays healthy but no matter what you put in your hair it will still get damaged from straightening but products just make it not as bad
all heat appliances damage your hair.

omg use protective stuff! The chi is supposed to keep damage to a minimum, but u really need heat tamer spray if you are planning to straighten often. i have the chi turbo and i always use protective stuff!
