Are chi hair straighteners all there cracked up to be?

i recently used my friends chi and i didnt really notice anything diffrent from my cheap staightener even though they are soooooo exspensive. so is there like a special way to use them or something and what makes them so expensive?Are chi hair straighteners all there cracked up to be?
chi irons are super hot so you only need to go over your hair a couple times leaving it less prone to damage!!Are chi hair straighteners all there cracked up to be?
they work on all types of hair which is why it is expensive... I have very curly hair and with this flatiron it only takes me an hour n a half for perfectly straight hair
