CHI hair straightener broke!!?

I bought a CHI hairstraightener about a half a year ago and it was really good. A few days ago when i was useing it , it randomly turned off and stopped working. I have no clue what happened because i didnt drop it or leave it on running. I called BeautyChoice.com (which is here i bought it) and the Farouk Systems customer service and they said that i could send it in for repairs. but if i send it i have to pay shipping %26amp; handling both ways, which in total (cuz i live in canada0 would cost around 40$$. Im not sure if this is worth it because thats about hlaf the price i payed for the actual striaghtner.if i should send it to repairs who should i send it to ? the manufactuer (Farouk) or the place i bought it online (BeautyChoice.com) they said i have a 1 yr warrently so iwould expect them to pay for everything. should i send it or should i just buy a new one? also do u guys have any tips to try and make my straightener work . i was useing it and than iut randomly stopped so is there somthing could do to make it work ? please post !!! desperate need of help!!CHI hair straightener broke!!?
Hmmm...

Contact the CHI company, I know when I got mine, the person who sold it to me told me that the company's policy is that if the flatiron breaks you can return it to them and they'll send you a new one, if you have the receipt and stuff and it's been less than a year.CHI hair straightener broke!!?
I'd say the safest idea is just to send it in for repairs. Sorry:(

Try pushing the red button ! If that doesnt work call the Chi Company

i have one it does want to turn on sometimes so i just push the red button
yeah, i wouldnt send it in to get fixed, it will just break again anyways. i had a chi straightener and i LOVED it, and then after about a year the plates started flaking and getting all rough, and then it did the same thing as yours and just stopped working. i couldnt find the receipt for where i bought it, so i just bought a new one, also a chi. after about 8 months, one side just stopped heating up. chi seems like a really good brand, but their straighteners always crap out after a while. i've had a paul mitchell straightener for about a year now, and its absolutely amazing. it even survived me taking it to europe and blowing up a converter while it was plugged in hehe.

i recommend that you just buy a new one, but not the chi brand
