CHI's damage your hair like crazy. There's no temperature dial so the plates just get hotter and hotter, so if you have thin hair, you're going to fry it completely. I recommend the Sedu straightener (www.folica.com). I've had one for 4 years and it's still working well. It has a temperature dial so you can adjust it accordingly to your hair type. They are supposed to be one of the best. All heat applied to your hair is potentially harmful, make sure you use a heat protection spray.
